I see you used the EMS lower cowl patch panels, did both sides fit well? I had one side fit great, and then the other side was WAY off.

  5. Both worked fine..................Well they did need a little tweking, but not more than I expected.

I did mine over a year ago. After complaining, they told me they were re-tooling the side that had a problem, that was after they denied that any problem existed! Im glad to see they fixed it.

  11. Don't talk to me about the tail lights..........!
We are building this for our boss.....................Thanks for the kind words.

That chop flows really nice! Do you happen to have a side shot of the car? That would be cool to see.

Looking forward to more progress pics.

Sorry, but everyone is going to mention the lights when it is done!

But the rest looks great - and I guess it is his car to do what he wants....

Well, it all depends on what your going for, and what your boss likes. If you want to build a traditional looking 41-48 ford custom, your going to want to put the graven guard and rear bumper back on, and go with different taillights. Talights in the bumper guards are a perfect late 40's/early 50's trick. 41 studes look cool too, or the taillights Winfield styled ones made for these cars.

great work,,,,great job on building those tools too,,,,,
the taillights give it too much of an 80's streetrod look in my opinion

everything else is superb so far

  20. Love the look of the car as well. You are doing superb work.... but I do agree with the comments on the lights, they just kill it for me.

But of course it's not my car either!

    CT FEZZ,

Is the '41 going to be a street rod or a custom? All your work looks great and it seems you have a well equipped shop to work in. For me the tail lights are a poor choice if it's a custom, if a street rod they would e OK. I build a '41 Ford convertible early custom in the late '40's early '50's street cruiser style. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

    CRUISER

In the words of a friend of mine. "Anyone who would use lights like that on their car should be taken out and shot."

In the words of a friend of mine. "Anyone who would use lights like that on their car should be taken out and shot." That's regardless of whether it's custom or rod. They don't belong on a fat fendered car.

  26. You win, you win.................I'll install '39 Ford lights, no maybe '59 Cad, no maybe '50 Pontiac....er how 'bout '58 Chevy or I'll cut the rear clip off a '61 Olds and.............

Dude don't take offense to it. Did you pick the tailights? Do you think they look great?

A pretty major thing, like tailights, can really detract from a car. These guys are just telling it like it is. Its called constructive criticism. If you can't take it, don't build cars. There's always going to be someone who has/had/can/would do it better, no matter what tailights are in the car.

The Nailhead looks good, is it a 364 or 401? Why did you paint it Red???

  29. Look close at the pictures...............there are NO tail lights on the car. This is not my car, I am building it for a friend the way HE wants it.....................
The motor is a 364, again the owner wanted it red.
    Thanks for the intrest.

Mine ran a nailhead back in the 50's. After seeing your work - I need to get the motor changed quickly. Very nice.
