Depends on what you want the motor to do, and how it`s built. If it`s a stock motor you probably could get away with one or two, but there are way to many variables to give an accurate answer on that one. Hint, give more info.

Hello Mr Thatone49. There is a search function and and many threads about holley 94s and how many cfm you need. The answer is ....It depends. First you need to decide how much your engine needs...what are you gonna do? Race or just cruise? To calculate it use this formula... CFM= (CID x RPM x Volumetric Efficiency) divided by 3456 so if you need to run 6000 rpm and get 85% VE you need 483 CFM. so you need ~160 cfm per carb to run 3 carbs. 94s have a wide range of cfm outputs. Search on here for Holley 94 and you will find out which holleys you need as the go from ~150 to 205 depending on the model.

For Whatever It's Worth, multi-carb set-ups work best on a sbc when they're NOT in a staggered position. If you've got log manifolds, & the carbs are side by side & positioned straight across from each other, they'll work quite well on a progressive linkage. When they're staggered, you're always feeding the nearest port on the heads while starving the port not directly in line with the carb. Long story short, you're not running a balanced flow on fuel delivery, & they always tend to bog with an excess of fuel on some of your ports, and fall down with an absence of flow on others. I've been down this road before, & learned from trial & error. I just hope I've adequately described what one can expect when running a staggered carb system irrespective of what CFM those carbs might be. Comprendo?...I hope so! My 2 cents only!
