Thanks to Ray Buck, this is the rod us two 'ol farts (69)(good number) drove to see our first Bonneville speedweek. A little rain and hail but a fun 2500 mile "bucket list" ride!!

Thanks for the interest in my humble site. I really enjoyed shooting the photos and wanna give a shout out to JoAnn Carlson, the media rep for SCTA. She provided me with a press pass which was really helpful in getting places I wouldn't otherwise have been able to go...like driving thru the pits. I can't walk very far (bad heart) and it made all the difference in the world to have my Burb to use like a big ol' wheelchair...and I had the A/C running. What a treat!

I'm planning to go back for World of Speed, the Streamliner Shootout and World Finals (if the gods of the salt smile on us) and I hope to have more photos, especially of some cars and bikes I missed at SW.

Ohh...and thanks to all the friendly racers, crew and spectators who showed the ol' Bonneville spirit by welcoming me and my camera and offering water, Gatorade and other stuff that a hot and tired old man really welcomed.

Btw, if you didn't see the impromptu gathering at the Nugget on Sunday nite, photos are here:
