Event Coverage Pictures from the Time Machine Nationals @ Great Lakes Dragaway, Union Grove, WI

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by INLAW MODEL A, Aug 31, 2008.

  1. I just got home from spending Saturday at GLR for the Time Machine Nationals. Here is a movie my wife took of me driving the Fiat Topolino. This was the first time I ever drove the quarter mile. My best run was 11.4 @ 117 mph. Not bad for a stock 350 with a cylinder down. I have a bunch of pictures I will post later. A huge thanks goes out to Bob from the Midwest G***ers for all his help. With out him I would not have been able to run. Also thanks 30dodgeboy for pushing me around! I met several Hambers there. By the way, I love your 55 Chevy g***er Falfasnightmare.

  9. 1957 Chrysler Windsor 354 poly block with '56 354 heads. Had a '92 in it but "kicked the rods outta it". Unknown trans adapter connecting a 727 torqueflite. Mopar 8-3/4 axle making an all-mopar drivetrain.

The first picture shows Dave Cobb of Ohio who built the car (guy in the white shirt) as a tribute to Chuck Finders (guy in the black shirt seated in the wheelchair).

I should be getting more details later.

Here's some of the shots I took. The last one is a small funny car powered by a snowmobile engine. Ran low 11's.

  16. Sounds good for next year. I already have engine plans and safety updates. I talked to a few friends and got them fired up about bringing their stuff out for next year also. I had a blast!!!!!

Now If we can only get a cage in Brians pickem'-up, we could show old Dyno Dom that they don't have to be pretty to be fast!

No doubt. I think a few of them would be very shocked!!! LOL. Tell him to get the cage in it! And he can add 'The Shocker' to the side since that is what it will do.

    LOL

  20. Hi bobwop, too bad I didn't get to meet you. There was not a lot of free time. Did you guys take any pictures? I would like to see more. I missed a lot sitting in the staging lanes until the last run each time. Here are some more of your cars:

  22. Yeah, I saw your roadster while coming back on the return road, but you were on the wrong side of the fence!

Next year, park (and visit) by us in the pits. Many cars were in the pits that did not race.

the Midwest G***ers will be performing at GLD on 9/13 and 10/4 for the Nitrous Street Brawls, also on 9/21 for Ford Day and on 10/18&19 for Halloween Havoc. It would be great if we could all park in the pits together and have some fun!
