I dout the owner of this Zepher has any plans to paint it. I was at his home a couple of years ago looking at a flathead he had for sale. He owns at least 10 asst Zephers in a collection of over 200 cars. This one seems to be the family driver ! It showed up With at least 3 generations of family members. There all relly nice folks too.

Why would Allen & jake even waste there time painting it ?

If you went to Dan Collins Old Gold Garage party you would have seen them in the Lowered '39 LaSalle Convertable of Jakes they just painted Black, They were going to drive the Maroon '41 Cadillac Convert but just decided to ride together as a Family.

3 Generations of Deckers in a '39 LaSalle convert.. How many of us can claim somthing that Cool ?

Looked Pretty scary with the front half of the frame suspended off 4 sideways Heim joints.

I think these Old dudes that were drivin it around had a Baggie of Mushrooms & Sack of Crank.

That way they could stay awake & have energy to build the Wild Shit they were Hallucinating

I asked the old guy that brought this contraption about it, hoping to find out if it was a movie prop, if they laid up the fiberglass rear fenders themselves, etc.

He said that it was an old hotrod, owned by his grandfather and raced by his Dad on the salt, then he produced an 'old' photo of it. It was a total photoshop photo, 'aged', printed then cut out with the old-timey border and everything.

As soon as I called him out on the photoshop, he laughed and said that yeah, he and his buddy built it.

It was a strange car, but I thought it was kinda funny that the guy was trying to BS people about it. I wonder if anyone fell for the 'vintage racer' story?

  24. Thanks for the great pics, I wasn't able to make it this year. Looks like I missed some really super cars.

That suede brown shoebox is awesome, don't know who owns it but its great!

The red flamed with silver chopped shoebox w/ Scrapers car club plaque is on ebay right now I think. Looks like a neat car.
