On a 1958 Ford car, what would the wheel bolt pattern be? 5 1/2"....5"....4 3/4"...or 4 1/2". All would be the five bolt hub.

Would the data tag have all letters and no number? The info I have, the tag sould be all letters.

Got one that supposedly come from a 58 Ford car. It measures 4 1/2" X 5. and the data tag said 3.56. nothing more.

Something doesn't seem right according to the info I have about 9" rear ends.

    Thanks,

Thanks, 50shoe. That article identified it by the tag as a early 9". and by the tag, (which I have, as 3.56 gears, as according to that article), Ford did not use the lettering system on their earlier tags, only the gear ratio in numbers.

I have the same 9" in one of my cars. It's out of a '59 passenger car. 28 spline, small bearing, 4 1/2" bolt pattern. Also 3.56 gears, non locking

If it's out of a pickup, it will be 5 on 5 1/2.
