question about transmission swap

    hey i got 1958 chevy truck w a 235 and 3 on the tree.if i want to change my 3 speed to a 4 speed what kind of trans could i use

    idk of any modern 4 speeds (Not up to date on trannies), but you can find Muncies for a few hundred bucks. I never heard of anyone havin probs with them.

    Muncie, Saginaw, T-10, or a truck 4 speed from before 1968.

    You'll need to use bolts and nuts on the lower two trans to bellhousing bolts, and if the new trans has a 26 spline input shaft you'll need to swap the clutch disc.
