About 100 cars showed up on Sunday, August 31st in John Metcalf Park in beee-u-tiful downtown Fountain...Dave & Chris Pareso, owners of Back Street Kustoms, hosted the event. The weather was great, the free feed was great and the door prizes were plentiful, plus there was a live "DJ" and plenty of conversation with old friends and new friends... If you missed it...you missed a good time...plan on it next year...here's a few pix... R- The host of the event...Dave's chopped '51 Merc and his radical '49 Studey truck... Greg Pitman's Chrysler... Daughter Lindy's Imperial... Scott Hovett's Stude... Ray's heavy Chevy... Nice '49 Buick out of Pueblo...didn't get Jim's last name... Ron Brown's '56 Caddy...mine didn't make it...!!! So, I had to take the old standby...the Stude sled... Cliff Addenbrook's chopped '54 Chevy... and last but not least...there were a few flat black "hot rods" there...this one is Aaron Leeper's Model A... Overall shot...that Chevy hardtop in the middle is a very old '60's survivor that used to race the streets of Denver...
thanks for the pics roger. it's not a huge show, but one of my favorites by far. on top of all the great cars(fwiw rogers pics were taken early, there were many more not pictured)you can't beat the free grub(donations accepted) there's door prizes for everybody. you can't complain about that price of admission or not getting your money's worth.
Dave and Chris put on a great rod and Kustom get together, food was great, park was awesome and a bunch of *****en Kustoms. YEA ! Thanks to Colorado Springs (BACK STREET KUSTOMS ) Rick
Yep, that's Ray's...the gray primer went away this spring... Dave's Purple Stude truk is right here- and BTW, that's a true kustom survivor...built in Greeley, ColoRODo, way back when... R-
I had a great time at the show. That 41 ford in the first picture is an original Barris chopped car. It is beautiful.
i know! j/k! thanks Tman. still a bit of work to do on it. it's a good thing roger is good at picking good photo angles to hide the bad stuff! still rollin on those fentons i got from you years ago.
Here are a couple more pix of some rods and my 50 merc. I love driving it. The 28 has been in alot of mags and is also a rebuild of a old rod from the 50's. Beautiful.
Yep, # 39 was just featured in (Gasp...!!! ) Street Rodder...!!! And your Merc is cool ARBS1976... R-
