Hey all sick boys and gals, I am currently reworking my Chevy for the second time of sorts, this time starting to do a little customizing to it...little by little. In doing so I was searching for things online and just about everything I was looking for pointed me to threads on this site! So I decided to join and have some fun and hopefully meet some other enthusiasts with similar interests...custom hot rods! I've noticed that there are some members on this board that are also from Richmond, I think this will help expand my interest in these cars and in meeting some new friends.
Welcome from Virginia. Mike, if your looking for parts, info, or just random conversation you'll find it here.
check out the trash-a-rama comin' up in richmond in oct. i think most every gearhead in town will be there. it's only an hour and 1/2 drive for me. i'll bethere. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cf...&MyToken=54daa530-c627-4db0-ac5a-538986e9fcfe and welcome.
Welcome from Hampton. Be looking for you in Fredricksburg and Richmond shows. These will be right up your alley as far as your car style goes. There are some other guys in the area with early Impalas and the like that might be able to show you a thing or two. They also post here.
I love and accept everyone's love. Here's some adds and updates: Current as of two weeks ago... Future anticipation (rendering same as avatar)... So far I've gotten new tires, rear wheels, wheel spacers, put blue dots in the tail lights, removed the side view mirrors and put on a 3" peep with a 3" dome adhered to it. Oh yeah, and rebuilt the carburator, man was it running rough. Also got some regular type fender skirts. Today I took off all the door handles that was a lot of fun; I bought some casters today to put on under the tail so that I won't s****e bottom anymore, can't wait to put those on, my tail pipes are already mangled though from years of smacking ***. I've been painting on my own whites because I didn't want to pay an extra $200 for a white stripe. They'll be done curing saturday at noon so that's when I'll be able to mount those and put on the skirts. It's gonna be sweet, 225/70 in the front with the original wheels and 59 impala hubcaps and 1 1/4" spacers, these end up with a 5" WWW. 275/40's in the back on 17" rims painted rat red with 1" spacers, I'm gonna have to flatten out one part of the exhaust I think to make one of them fit, or just find a way to move it further to the inside of the well, these rubbers ended up with 2" WWW's. Good bye Dunlop and Sumitomo! Forgot to mention, I have a 3 on the tree straight six with dual fenton headers, cherry bombs, and flame throwers. The flame throwers don't really work anymore though. Maybe I can get 'em going for the 69 and back rockabilly extravaganza. I think I'm going to copy this post into the virgin builders and contiue with the progress in there. Smile! How do youlike my missing middle tooth, hah?!
