At the LA Roadster show a couple years ago, Orosco had a quad duece intake for a flathead that he said he was going to repop... Anybody know if that's still hapn'n?
I saw a "new" Tattersfield (I think) on eBay several months ago - it didn't meet reserve IIRC. That would be my guess...
That was from Tony Baron... I saw that one too.. I might be confused but I don't think so. This was by Jim Lattin's modified out in the swap area... Tony has a booth inside the show. And Tony's intake is an In-Line 4 intake, I believe Orosco's was a staggered config...
Strombergs97 has a couple of new Latin 4x2 staggered manifolds. I think he aslo has a couple that look like the latin but were made by someone here or on the FordBarn. They are nice manifolds and I think he sold one with 97's and linkage to a guy on the East Coast. I tried to find a picture but couldn't. Give him a PM
Thanks Duane, I think the one I saw was an Eddie Meyer repop and I'm pretty sure Jim Lattin was the one who told me Orosco was repopping them. I like that intake though, is Jim still producing them? Any info? Thanks, Phil
i have a brochure with prices and contact info, i can scan it and email/pm it to you... he was going to repop the Eelco dual plug head as well but i havent heard or seen anything since then.
lakeheaders made some- under geardrive- lakeheaders.com I think. those intakes look really cool but you would have to have one hell of a flathead to run 4 carbs? no shared plenum would keep you from fudging and only running a couple...
I think I can shed a little light on this subject, Heres the Intake that I believe orosco started with, from what I understand he put the eddie meyers name in it, I know someone that has seen the meyers staggered 4 intake in person, and says its the same. As far as the intake in the pics, there is 3 known made, one is my hands, and made sometime in the early 50's. I dont know how many or when orosco copied them.
HAMB Alliance vendor Gear Drive & Custom had made a limited run. Got some neat Harrell heads and intake in the works.
Tucks right.. 4 carbs on a flathead is alot of carbs with no plenum... My intake is a copy of the E&S .... All the guys that I know that have them are on full race flatheads.. 2 went to New Zeland for a land speed record car... a bunch went out east to dirt track racers and few for boats and drag racers. Not to many hot rodders got one. About half that I have sold are on a wall in a garage... I have 3 left here , Marcy has one and ****ster27 has one .... So a total of 5 are left....
Hey! Can I join the club too??? this will be on the street here in a few months... Came from Strombergs97!
Truth? it was pulled out of a box and screwed together in the wee hours of the morning. Everything is now properly mocked up on a pruned case while I continue to work out the carb linkage. Sorry if I've completely derailed your post, Kilroy.
OK, remember one 97 is feeding only two cylinders, not all four..You'll be adjusting the idle for one 97 and two cylinders.. Duane
on that intake in my post there is a balance plenum in the center of the intake, granted its not runners but it helps tuning the staggered 4x2 flathead intake
I was about to go look for this thread: But Kevin beat me to it. I think there are merits to running 4 carbs on a street flatty if imagineered correctly...
