Freemont (baylands) first years pictures any out there

    The street rod drags started out at baylands raceway in 80 81 area was at the first 6-7 years with the nor cal 34s (Central Valley Rods) Was the start of the street rod drags that are all over the country now Like to see pictures if anyone has them :D

    I have pics, but not from that era. My dad was a flag starter at Fremont, and raced there too. Mine are from 1961-1963. Some crazy stuff. Chain driven blowers, massive chops, engine set backs, twin engine fuelers etc etc. You're gonna have to wait for Church issue 5. Working on it now.

    hey coby, my childhood friends dad use to spectate/race at Fremont during that time... not exactly sure what was raced, its been awhile. he does have a number pics from Fremont and Half Moon Bay dragstrip around that time.

    ill try to get him to scan what he has and send them over to you.

    I have a Dave Bell poster for the first (?) street rod drags at Fremont. I think the California Kid was on it as well as a jet car. it has been a while since I have seen it cuz it is stashed away somewhere.

    I remember it was all street cars... the fastest car I remember was a 31 chevy coupe that ran 11's.

    I was there with Cole Cutler when Fat Jack raced Cole and went on his lid Also at street rod nats we raced again and Cole times were 9.40 9.39 and 9.40 with his street 34

    I forgot Greg everetts 34 was the first in the 9s I think the second or third year

    I still have on my tool box the dash plaques from that time.
