Laurie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I was thinkin about your work this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!When I first started striping I remember loving your style.I remember gazing at some 4x4 Cutl*** that you did!It was like perfectly presicioned cubist scroll work!I also loved Charlies 50 Merc, the purple one ya did!Did you own it at one time?I was about 11 when I saw that job!!!!!Im 34 now.
Yes I did own that 49 purple merc I added the scallops along with a line within a line NEW at that time I also customized my harley with silver leaf and Kelly green outlines Etc. wonder where that job is I used nitrocellouse laquer then and cleared it with urethane at the time that was a no- no but I was always experimenting . Deltron was just introdused I also bought a 51 merc green after that I striped the car for weeks using tall and thin lines on the hood and trunk .
Oh,Funny that green 51 Merc was built by Pete Coleman in the early 80s and now has the car back...but the stripin is gone.
Heres a picture of the car that I took of Petes car before the striping when he still had it.I have pictures of the Charlie purple merc before and after the scallop/stripe job but have to scan them at Kinkos.Isnt it funny that both of your mercs are back with the guys who first did em?There are still pics of the merc on the site that Nelson has up.
I tried to post some of my work that i've been doing periodacally but my files are too big I have to figure out how to manually chang them wish me luck I have to take it slow or I get all confused by it
