    Hello Laurie, Welcome aboard!
You need to get a hold of Peter Pan or Old Bob Signs here on the HAMB. They're both big in the Chicago Brushmasters. They host Panel Jams and a kick *** display at the Chicago World of Wheels car show.

Yes I did own that 49 purple merc I added the scallops along with a line within a line NEW at that time I also customized my harley with silver leaf and Kelly green outlines Etc. wonder where that job is I used nitrocellouse laquer then and cleared it with urethane at the time that was a no- no but I was always experimenting . Deltron was just introdused
I also bought a 51 merc green after that I striped the car for weeks using tall and thin lines on the hood and trunk .

Heres a picture of the car that I took of Petes car before the striping when he still had it.I have pictures of the Charlie purple merc before and after the scallop/stripe job but have to scan them at Kinkos.Isnt it funny that both of your mercs are back with the guys who first did em?There are still pics of the merc on the site that Nelson has up.
