Ok, so...some things I am gonna say will be positive, some will be negative...consider them in the scope of history, because everything "works", but time has demonstrated that there are better alternatives...inversely,you have a great start.

    1. Hairpins and tube axles are not the best combination. Tube axles don't twist (axially) so there is inherent bind in your front suspension.

    2. It's a 28/29 Tudor. I envy you.

    3. The tie rod seems very close to the underside of the frame. Once the frame is "loaded", with an engine/radiator, etc...the drag link will need to be resolved.

    4. The rear ladder bars are linear...in line with the frame. The issue here is that there is no consideration for rotation of the rear axle (not the same as the front axle)...think of it this way: with the ladder bars perpendicular to the axle, the only point of rotation is in the vertical axis...the rear axle can't roll around a central point, like in a "triangulated" ladder bar arrangement (look at SoCal Speedshop's offerings for comparison). Ford used wishbones, front and rear, with a single mounting point to facilitate suspension rotation. That is a design methodology that is difficult to argue with.

    5. So far, you haven't included any central crossmembers. I submit that's because you haven't built the engine/transmission mounts yet. What I would suggest is that you consider a new front ladder bar mount when you design your X-member.

    6. In the pics, your body is welded to the frame with what appears to be 1" x 1" tubing. Practically, that won't work. The body needs to be on a different plane than the ch***is. With the exception on unibody cars, there is too much "differential" flex between the body and the frame to make that workable.

    7. I love holes.

    Okay, that's my $.02

Thanks for all the advice.. This is my first build and all input is helpful. The body is just tacked on the frame temporary. I have weld nuts and Teflon washers to mount the body to the frame whenever I get to that point. I don't understand why hairpins and tube axles are not a good combo, but I will research that further. I still need to build lots of little stuff. I'm trying to get the ROLL, STOP, STEER down then I will go backward and tweak all the odds and ends while my engine is being rebuilt. The steering is my biggest hang up at this time...

I agree with all of the ".02 worth" above, except the hairpins/tube axle part. Over 500 Kurtis Kraft midgets, and dozens of KK Indy roadsters with that combination pretty much disprove that old wives tale. How much bind is going to occur with 2-3" of travel? Ran my first roadster 15 years on the street, El Mirage, 1/2 and 1/4 mile drags, and the tube axle and hairpins are still in one piece. My current roadster is coming up on 14 years on the road with the same combination without problems. If your tube axle is quality tubing with quality welds, don't mess with it. You've got a lot of other work to keep you busy.

You have made great progress. I have a '29 sedan too. I am using the mid 60's MoPar steering box. Looks great. I have not built the frame to mount it yet. Have you found the Tech Arch's to see all you need to about it? What part is messing with your mind?

I am at a stumbling block right now with the motor mounts and radiator placement. I have the engine just temporary mached up to look at. the bottom hoses are killing me on the radiator

I have a question..I see its been asked before with out reply..
Why are you going with Right Hand Drive?

In a country that is set up all left hand steer (drivers position) you are going to be in a bad visual position on left hand turns (blind...very blind as to on coming traffic)

    might wanna re-think this novelty

    Oh!! I almost forgot...I'm Digin' the Holes..man..

i don't think it will be that big of an issue. i have driven in st Croix where they drive on the left with left hand drive cars. plus there is a hole in the body now. to late to change my mind :)

Yes but ...dont they have different traffic signal opperation in countries that run right handed steering?

like when its time for the center lane to tun left the on coming traffic has a red light..so they will not plow into you..?

here we have to yeld to on-coming traffic..because while sittin in the left seat..we can see the opposing traffic...

Holes can be fixed...lol...trust me Ive fixed alot of Holes...
and i would rather fix a hole..than a wrecked Tudor..

were you just trying to be different?

Ya, what he said! That right-hand drive steering could be a bad idea. just my .02
