Just a silly question, are the doors on the Model A Vicky's longer then the doors on the Sedan? From pics it appears they are different but I'm not sure. Thanks for your help.
The doors are closer to a 32 sedan then a model A sedan. They close flush have a 32 door striker ,32 type garnish and it's a slant window. So it's not even close.
I'm one of those insane, 1/25th guys. I ran across pics of a '30 Vicky and plan to build one in scale. Trying to find drawings of the car has proven difficult to say the least. Thanks guys for your help.
That it does Terry. Thanks a million. The Model A Vicky are with out a doubt the best looking of any of the body styles. I have known for years that Ford made Vicky's in 32 but was not aware until last months Street Rod Builder that they were also built in 30/31.
So is your Vicky a slant window? If it is, it doesn't matter what it's close to. You're going to be on a hunt for those doors for that exact model unless you decide to do some serious surgery to some doors for another sedan. If they are slant window doors, the 31 Murray sedan slant window doors will be close if not right on.
I have to agree on the great look of the Vicky. What's also cool about the Vicky shes got a bunch of 32 in her.
All 30-31 Vickys are slant window, 10 degrees. No other door but a Victoria will fit without major modification. Terry
It looks like it's going to take a fair amount of work to convert a 31 Tudor into a Vicky, but then that's the joy of doing it in Plastic. If you screw it up to badly you just go to the hobby shop and buy another.
Do you plan on kit bashing an AMT 1932 Ford Vicky? Always wondered why there were 1/24th and 1/25th kits. So many dream cars could have been built if they all matched AMT kits.
The plan is to use the Revell '31 Tudor Sedan for most of the body, however, the AMT '32 vicky may be a way to get around doing the mods to the "A" pillars. There seems to be some body differences between the "Steel Backs" and the "Leather Backs", from what I can find the major thing is in the drip rail behind the side windows. The Steel Backs have the drip rail and the Leather Backs don't. There may be others that I am not aware of.
I have a '31 Victoria and the doors are not as tall as the others. It is as if it has a factory chop!
