Info need: 40 Ford Truck;

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Pist-n-Broke, Sep 8, 2008.

  1. Working on a 40 Ford 1/2 Ton Pu. It came to me in a Box. I'm ready to mount the Cab on the frame. I thought it used wood block between frame and floor. Can't find any in the Carpenter or Mack's book for 1940. They both seem to just Skip that year. Where can I get the Correct bolts and pieces?

  2. I don't know for sure, but I think 38-41 will work...41 should for sure. PM my brother hotrod-40, he just put his truck together and bought new wood from someone.

  5. They do use wood between the frame and cab. I saw them in the Mack catalog too

    Used macs on mine. Top notch. They offer $100 dollars if your truck gets in any magazine and you mention it has their parts.

  10. This is the first sight that lists 40 and 41 together. All the other sites just start at 41. Now if I can just find the Cab to Frame bolt set. Ya I know, just go to the Hardware store right? I'd just like to have O.E. type hardware for this project.

  11. '41 is same as '40. I got the ones for my '38 from Drake close to 20 years ago. Very nice pieces, perfect fit. Not sure if the '40-'41 cab risers are same as '38-'39 but I'm betting they are. I know all the wood under the bed of the truck is the same '38-'41.
