I have a 48 chevy front axle and I want you to tell me why I cant use the existing leaf spring mounting points to mount some home made hairpins, and run the transverse leafs between the hairpins. If I make it all plenty strong I dont see why it wont work.
It can be done, I have already done it myself, Just make sure you use "Quality" grade * or better hardware and also make sure the bolts are so tight fitting in the holes that they need tapped in with a hammer. There is over 26,000 miles on this setup with no signs of any failures. I am also doing this again to my reo project. I found this post when I went to update my wanted ad then I went looking at your project stuff. I will be calling you later about the windshield, Thanks Andy
