Ran across this 51 Kaiser today. Haven't seen one in a while. Owner wanted $500 for it so I took a better look. I was suprised to see that it had Arizona tags on it and a totally solid body with perfect floors too. It was also straight. Had a flat head 6 in it with 3spd and it was 99% complete with only a couple of minor trim parts missing. It's a shame really to let it go to the crusher, but I don't see me or anyone else restoring it either. Is there any love out there for an old Kaiser? Are there even some parts that people want for other projects that came off of these? It had two really neat square mirrors that attached to the door edge that are obviously vintage aftermarket. Plus there was a 50's era visor in the back seat. So, what's the verdict? Thumbs up or down?
Buy it!!! its different... it fun when people say what is that, and then say they've never even heard of that
If you do some searches, there are a few guys on here that have done alot with a kaiser. they come out pretty cool.
What a great car. If it was in Holland i would have bought it immeditely. They were build in Holland too (Rotterdam) by the Dutch NEKAF (Netherlands Kaiser Factory), but unfortunately no cars were saved due to the bad weather over here Hennie
That visor looks like a Dietrich, definitely worth saving. 5 bones is a no brainer. Even if you don't build it and if no one wants to buy it you could part it out for a good coin. I'd love to have that thing personally, especially if it was solid.
thumbs up. I would build that, theres a couple cool chopped/kustom ones on here like was said. dont part it...looks real complete!
One of our h.A.M.bers on here built an asskickin 2-dr out of a 4-door and showed the build on here . these are a cool body style, killer peaks on the top and real stylin lines, grille is a custom wedge that rocks. The visor is probably worth 150 to 200, if you can save this baby i don't think you can lose on it at 500. My opinion, which ain't worth much!!--Sololobo
Engine is a Continental 6 I believe they were about 228 inches and 110 hp. if its an automatic it likely a hydramatic (GM)
there s a purple and silver one i think it was that is chopped and just looks bitchn floating around too.
Get it! It's an oddball that looks good. Can't beat that. And for 500? You've got to be crazy to say no. I love the sperm whale nose these have.
$500 is about right if it's complete and solid - is it supercharged? The only bad thing is the high-$$$ bumper guards, I don't see on this car. Unless the front is hidden in the weeds. In the spring I could have had about three shitty ones for around $200 a shot, but had no way to move them before they had to be gone. They were rotty rough cars.
