thanks aussie steve, however the roadster was owned at one time by speedys grandfather bill pearce. speedy has several more pics of bill with the car, and he is trying to chase down some of his grandfathers hotrod history. thanks again, zombie
no. i thought he said it was around 56. it is not marked on the photo. i will see if he knows the actual date. heres another shot.........
According to the photo in this article http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?***le=Doane_Spencer%27s_1932_Ford_Roadster That is the Doane Spencer Roadster. The photo in the article even shows a clear view of the plaque. I think Neil East did most of the changes that you see on the car now. Louvers and cutting off the frame horns that is. Man, that is one fab photo!!! Better'n my old family photo album, I only see pics of chubby old grandmas in there...
There is a photo of the Doan Spencer CH***IS in a period trade magazine that covered a very early Roadster Show in the LA area. I need to find it, because is shows a very supple Z'd frame section over the front spring that I don't remember seeing in the current form of the car. Did Doan build several '32 Ford ch***is?
