hated to miss the invasion this past week-end but have not seen any war birds in a long time so I went to a local air port.. hope you dont mind me showing..
You lucky SOB How'd ya manage to get your car parked that close??? Your ***le says "my ride WITH a war bird" Did you actually get a ride?? Rich
sorry, guess that could be miss leading........no, but I could have.... my pocket book was a little thin .. I have always wanted to get a pix with my ride next to one.. I took the pix with my camera and probably did not do it justice, a professional photo guy also took pix, they are suppose to be mailed to me later... here is a link to other planes and cars if you want to take a look the show was held in Lancaster, Tx.. http://1952streetrod.googlepages.com/album_gallery.html?album=5243038520196563441
They were built 30 minutes away in Bridgeport, Ct. and 8-9 of them flew in for a homecoming a few years ago, great looking plane.
Good pic, nice airplane and nice car! Save your nickels and dimes for a ride in a T-6 or Mustang. Expensive, but you won't be disappointed.
Im not sure on this but i think the corsair was a single seater... Great pic though...what an opportunity for a photo!
A few Corsairs have been hacked-up to install a second seat, usually including some blue plexi-gl*** "school bus" type windows to give the p***enger a little view of the outside. Thankfully, most have since been converted back to stock, single seat configuration.
I went up in a B-17 in May.I use to fly as a radar operator in a Navy P-3.Great experience. The greatest thing was one of my editors PAID me to do it!
