Hey guys...asking everyone to keep an eye out for some stolen parts. A friend was having his house painted last week and his garage was burglarized of all his tools last night (9-9-08). Please keep your eyes out around Wichita, KS for the following: -Craftsman 2550psi Power Washer -Craftsman 19v Cordless Set (Sawzall, Drill, Jigsaw, Light,etc..) -Craftsman 2xx peice tool set (Red pull out trays in black box) -Craftsman 1/2" Impact -Craftsman 3 ton jack -Craftsman corded grinder (2) -Craftsman corded hammer drill -Bench grinder -Chop Saw from HF The incident occured around 31st & Seneca. Always helps to have extra eyes out. Luckily they didn't get his Chevrolet!
They stole a bench grinder?!?!? And here I was thinking they were taking all the stuff that WASN'T bolted down.
wow... i will keep my eyes out in abilene.. but everything that gets stolen here turns up in wichita.. but i will still keep my eyes on the streets.
Yeah I agree the painters got them. Seems like every time someone around here has a roof repaired, fence built, or painting done things disappear. I "lost" the motor off my boat shortly after the neighbor had a new fence built. I never had problems before and I haven't had problems since. Go figure.
Southwest end of town, Dillon's on sw corner, Walgreen's on nw corner, QuikTrip on se, ne corner is Seneca Square shopping center.
one and the same. we had our house robbed, we think by the 1st A/C company that came to fix the unit at me and my roommates' house. tried screwing the landlord over by doing screwy work and charging way too much for a unit, they said no, we're finding someone else. the next day our house was robbed in a neighborhood that hasn't been hit in 10 years. Santiago's A/C...the only alcohol stolen from our well stocked bar was the Patron Anejo and Reposado Tequila...coincidence?? no. never caught 'em, cops wouldn't do a dang thing.
He's thinking it was the Painter or someone the painter told about all the goodies in the garage...thanks for keeping your eyes peeled
I also vote for tracking down the painter and seeing whats in his garage.. i was having my house built 10 years ago..and one night forgot to lock my barn..(stupid yes i know) the guys that were doing the trim on my house were the only ones working on site the one day that the barn was unlocked..a hand full of things came up missing.. and one of the trim guys drove by himself..hummm????..could never prove it..didnt have the ability or time to track him down..but my bet was mr. trim guy had sticky fingers..only got a few things because i was just getting ready to move in once the place was finished..so not much was in the barn at that time.. unknown people on your property would be my first guess..than go from there.
Not to point fingers here but dude the cats that painted the house know something. They might not have done it but I'll bet they have a idea who did >>>>.
Yeah it seems so obvious but its hard to accuse right now. Maybe the cops can go check the painter's garage...but now (two days later) the parts are most likely spread around the midwest
Are there identifying marks are on these tools that would make this thread meaningful? What you've described is standard pawn shop inventory across the country and totally untraceable.
Or as mentioned above, someone who the painter happened to tell about seeing a garage full of nice tools. My bet is that one way or another there is a connection.
Meaningful? Having extra eyes out in the area is absolutely meaningful. unfortunately the parts were like new with little or no marks. The only things unique were some Air Ride fittings in the tool box.
I work for a regional shopper paper with 50,000 papers, The Big Nickel centered in Joplin, MO but distributed in SW MO, SE Kansas, NE OK and NW AR. I'll print the list of stuff stolen and post it for the classified employees to see if anything comes up like that. You never know. I hate bloody thieves. They have plagued and violated my disabled father for years. I worry that he is going to unload on them with buckshot one day, not that they don't deserve it, Dad doesn't deserve the consequences. Good luck and check on your home owners insurance. BlackCherry
good luck getting the police to do anything, you're better off just turning it into insurance, sadly enough. heaven forbid the cops actually have to do their job that's really jacked up. he needs some double or triple ought buckshot for the next thieves...in fear of death or bodily injury and reason to believe they're capable and willing to do so and he's in the clear.
Man that sucks...I used to drive off and leave my shop doors unlocked and wide open when I picked the kids up at school (I live in a rural area)...we used to save aluminum cans for their school...had 8 big hefty bags of crushed cans and came out one morning and noticed they were gone...later on noticed a few yard tools were gone too...hope you find the lowlifes who did this
