these were the coolset drags i think i've ever been to. beaver springs is the shit. we plan on flying out again. z
I'll be there with the camera, the 37, a tent (hopefully not just the front seat of the car) and i'm looking for another good time.
Can't WAIT!!!! Been building an F-100 for the track for this whole last year, so not much has changed with the coupe, ( just a posi unit...) but it will ( hopefully ) survive another year at the Beaver! Next year the Truck should be pulling wheel-stands, and maybe the following year the coupe will be on its glorious new frame. I imagine there will be alot more cars in the staging lanes this year! My whole chapter should be present, and perhaps running a '63 Fairlane, as well as a '53 Ford. We're all slow, but we're at least gonna try to bolster the numbers, the hell with it!
Spike, Hope you cancel your hair appointment so you can make the Showdown drags this year. I like to keep a couple of cherries in the mix for the hot dogs to devour ifor desert in the hot dog race. You and Zombie showed us that you two are more like little Vienna Sauges though than the Big Dogs you were trying to down. And YES...bring vintage bikes for the after hours (8:00PM) Flashbike Drags run just like the days of yesteryear, heads up, first to the finish, run what you brung! No qualifying runs needed. If you can keep the bike upright, then you qualify to race! We race till out were out of "gas." I've been looking forward to this event all year long. The wheels have been turning at how to improve the already successful recipe of last years event. I hope I can get my roadster back together for the show though. Her rear end innerds are blown all over my garage. I was tired of those one legged smoke runs, so I am trying to get a posi unit in the back so she grips both sides of the strip and is ready to tear things up in the hot dog race again this year.
I'm thinking grudge match between "Brookie" my '53 Plymouth and Chopo's Falcon! That would be 388 cubic inches (combined) of pure mayhem. CHAZ
With my leg still in an immobilizer I haven't gotten shit done on either of the cars I had hoped to run but at the very least I'll be there so the kids can pick out what cars they want to drive again.
Best show I went to last year. Ill be showing up Friday to set up camp for the whole weekend as I did last year.
We'll be there Friday night as well...camping the full weekend, also. Don't want to miss any chance I get to go to sleep drunk, in a wet tent! Been looking forward to this all year.
