This thing was dragged to the East coast from Utah and it's hard to see, but there isn't much rust aside from surface...

He has all the garnish moulding, a decklid that is really straight, hood, grill fenders and new steel running boards...

I am tryint to figure out what it is worth... he is asking 15k but it seems a little much?

Thats a goo looking ride. !5 grand is probably close in my opinion. I'm sure is negotiable. That would make a sweet tail dragger.

He's just testing the water with that price, you can wait or you can talk to the guy. Just don't wait too long.

That's what I thought until I went there with my best negotiating skills and $14k cash and he told me no way...

He said his price was firm and he wasn't budging... if he wanted to barter he would have started at $20K

The car looks worse in the pics than it does up close... they were taken in the dark and that is just from a flashlight and a flashbulb so it looks really rusty... in daylight you can see it is a desert car....

Also 2 different people are driving up today... to look at it, one from NY and one from NH both have told him on the phone they will take it... he said the first one with the $15 is leaving with it...

One of those deals... where I am really wondering, when the next one will come around and I love these cars... I am going to be hawking every other body I have to keep it...

The price seems fair, but it is not a "Bargain" by any means. If you really want a 35 3 window and have the $$$... go for it!

I have a friend selling a nearly completed 35 3w that is a bit street rodded but is a driver for $35k if you are looking for something a little further along.

sounds like your defending the price more than asking, if you want it that bad get it.
p.s. wtf is the difference between 14k and 15k? you had 14 cash but are questioning 15. seems odd to me

I agree. It sounds like a lot of money but these things are getting real hard to find and that one is pretty complete. If you are looking for a builder jump before those other guys get there.

Buy it....3 windows are nice. 15 isnt bad.....not much tin like that in VT these days either. If its the car youve been wanting then 15 will work, after reading this post, call the guy up and stop the guys from nh and NY. Ive been all over VT for work and looked in many barns garages, etc....stuff like that doesnt hang around long there! Good Luck. 15K is fair, Its not a bargain, but you are not over paying either!

That price is crazy! No way I would pay $15K. Take your time and keep your eyes open. You can find them in the 4-6 range. Might take you a while, but at least you can spend your next 10K in the car. Just my opinion.

    Agh... Good wisdom..

The difference is 1k I don't have so that's the hassle... I will have to sell a couple of my builders that I have been saving, but I think after reading all the advice I'm going to give him a call and let him know I'll do it...

Good luck! Three Windows aren't getting any cheaper, and I haven't seen a good one with all the Parts that one has go for under 10K-those Fenders (if they are good, are worth 5K alone, much less the Grille, Hood and Decklid (hell, I just paid $850.00 for a Wescott's Fiberglass one and felt good about it)-if a 3 Window turns your crank I think it will be a challenge to find one in better shape-

"Its only worth what someone will pay for it"

I personally think its a scary high price but most of the guys above me say its alright. I guess thats why I come home empty handed from swap meets. I never think anything is a deal. On the other hand, do you think youll regret not buying it? If yes, then go for it. No Regrets!

If it is a style of car that you REALLY want, by all means, borrow the other Grand and get it before it's gone......they don't come along very often.......a friend of mine has a real solid one here but he won't sell it to me at any price! I'd give him $15K for it.......

    DO IT!

If you want a '35 3w and you haven't already go the title in your hand your a fool. A complete car (and I'm betting all of those parts came origionally off the same car) is almost impossible to find today and I can't imagine if he advertised it nationally for $20,000 it would be gone the first day. You snooze-you lose, simple as that.
Another thing, if that's solid steel, no damaging rust you've saved his asking price in body work alone.

It may bring $15k, but I wouldn't pay it. Three windows are way cool, but man, that a big price tag for a starter... I'm hoping to have $15k in my car total...

Thanks FAB 32 you pushed me off my rocker... I just called the guy and his phone is busy... but I will be heading out there with ca$h and the hopes of hawking a couple of bodies I have been saving to make up the difference... ha, anybody want to buy a body?...28 coupe, 35 5 window coupe or my 50 chopped top... OK i'll save them for the classifieds...

I'll be heading to the poor house... you can find me there, but at least I can sleep in my new 3 window, because it does have an insert

Assembled and cleaned up it will bring alot more. Sadly, welcome to the world of wanting a '32-36 Ford. The price of admission is going up. And has been for some time. That grille is $1000, the rear fenders are $1000 each if they are as nice as the pics. Vintage louvered hood tops? Bitchin.

OK, for what it is worth there was one at Hershey last year, just a body on a rolling chassis, NOT an old stock car, but looked worse than one and it has $8,500 SOLD on it. No way $6,500 in body work would make it equal to a desert life car. If you want one go for it...................you can never pay too much for a 3Window, you just may be buying it early.

Who was the guy that had the sweet original dark blue 36 3W coupe for sale on here for $22K? I'm sorry, but I would buy the complete car that runs and drives with EVERY part intact for the extra $7K and enjoy it now. So, using that $22K car (possibly negotiable?) as a guide, I'd say that this car looks overpriced. But that's just me.

GOOD FOR YOU! Are the guys from New York and New Hampshire still on there way to look at it? If you have to part with the other Coupe bodies, Rhinebeck N.Y., Southbury, Ct. swaps are this weekend.
