I believe its different, If you gave this post a less mysterious ***le, maybe Bruce Lancaster or someone else with more Knowledge may chime in with a definitive answer.

    :)
the hamb will come through soon.
I think I recall that the crank and cam are slightly offset related to the centreline of the block, to absorb or offset combustion side thrust loads!??? This is my wonky memory trying to recall something read a while ago..
One thing i DO know is the valve height in relation to the deck is slightly different side to side, and machining to try to 'even it up' is a no-no.

  5. The V8 Flathead Ford the crankshaft centerline is offset 0.265" to the right. As for valve angle I believe it is 45 deg.

The angles are different side to side and they changed post war. The pre war engines had the valves laid down a little more and are closer to the bores. Might have moved them due to cracking??

I tried a search, I also remember something a while back about the valves being different.
I didnt realize that crank is also off set.

The dimensions for the 59 series engines would not be the same as the valve angles were changed prior to near '45.

The valves are not different side-to-side.

Early, with a mushroom tip, are different than late, with a regular grooved tip.

Ok, the valves are the same, what about the angle of the valve in the block?

Sides differ, and '32--maybe 44 and '46-53 differ...I do not have actual numbers here, I think they haver around 100 degrees separation (valves are canted toward cylinder) ...easiest source is the cross section drawing collection in various '38--48 Service Bulletins, on the back of each engine's dyno chart.
Blown 49 sell posters of a late cross section!
