I'm building this for the Merc/Deuce Reunion build (on the H.A.M.B. Plastic Model builders sub-board.)
Here is what i'm working on ! Not sure the 61 Impala lowrider fit here, but the 48 sure does ! That 48 Phaeton is done with the sectionned front end of a 48 woody, and an enlarged 39 ford sedan body, up section of a 48 convert windshield, rear 48 fenders , and carson top is done with the good ol landeau top from amt 50 ford and the front of a 48 rag top... fadeways fenders are added, a merc grille shell, radiused front opening, 49 merc bumpers front and rear, and 49 merc dash and wheel ... I'll have a hard time rescribing... almost everything !
nice job correcting the awfull chop 'Mo ... but what about the previous one ? i mean that totally ****in insane work of art you did ? please my friend, let the "just chopped" look for average modeler, we don't care about that, and keep ****in plastic, modify every scale inch for (my ) our pleasure ! ps : just kidding, i know you're gonna rework everything on that one too !
Still trying to finish this 41 Plymouth. Started out as a Rod but now have changed it to a G***er. Put a 50's Mopar Hemi in it and she is almost ready to rock. Maybe I can finish it today
Something about that body style just grabs me. I built that model back in...well it was a fairly new issue AMT kit, anyway, I built it as a shine runner. I like what you are doing with this one.
'Mo, that Merc is slinky! ZED, great craftmanship on that "Johnny Cash" custom CharlieK welcome to the board. A few shots of a 40 convertible I did a while back:
i just started another kustom build. its a 51 chevy hardtop that is chopped, nosed, decked, trim shaved, 1/4's extended, custom grille opening, headlights molded in, and i'll probably modify the rear wheel openings. also got half the roof finished on a chopped 39 chevy i showed a while back, i just need to lower the back more, or channel the body slightly, then i'll have the look i wanted it to have. the profile of the chop is perfect in my opinion, it needs tons of work still though! i'll try to get pictures later
A model I worked for a while, called the Green Stuff. 32 ford coupe, radically shortened 40 ford frame an 2 corvette engines View attachment 498059 View attachment 498060
different size of masking tape and lotsa time ! painted the whole car metallic brow, then first masking tape painted gold, then second size of masking tape.. then silver, then brown, then white... leave the tape carefully, and voila ! more pics here ! http://public.fotki.com/Zedskustoms/my-models/lowriders/61-impala/
Here's one that I built to look like a typical old out-of-box 3-in-1 kit. I built these two together recently. This one is supposed to look like a nice version of my real '63 Chevy. I built this old resin version of the '60 promo at the same time because I had the paints out. This is the main reason I'm posting here. I put this on the board awhile back, and everyone said it needed to be in this thread. My dad built this '40 Ford sedan in about 1961. He molded in an Edsel grill, '59 Olds taillights, Frenched headlights, etc. It's a real '60 Ford color. There you go.
Awesome roof Zed! Lovely old feel to that '40 too. Here's my current project though it stalled a few months ago. T-Bird lakes car. Home made rear wheels, stock seats cu out and interior panels re-made. Ch***is modified and engine set back... ...to make way for front mounted blower and injection.
Man, some nice builds this week. 'Mo, Zed and charliek amazing stuff. Here is a 32 roadster I finished a couple of weeks ago. Box stock with some kit bashed details. ..
