I was wanting to bolt the '47 Lincoln[5 on 5-1/2"pattern] wheels on my 9" rear end [5 on 4-1/2"pattern ] on my 31 Roadster and there wasnt enough axle flange metal to do a redrill. I also didnt want to spend a lot replacing with truck axles or other methods equally time consuming and high cost. I dug around for a wheel adapter to use and discovered that there was no one made that will bolt the big early ford wheel to a smaller ford car rear end. they are made for the use of bolting a small pattern whel on the early ford rear ends but not the way youd need it [as in my case.].... I saw on ebay a company in Calif.that has been making them for some time saying they would make ANY adapter for X amount so I did the buy it now . they arrived today and I was very impressed with the part. they are not CAST alum like most adapters are made of. they are CNC MILLED out of a solid peice of 6061T aircraft alum and are 100 percent guaranteed. I have no part in their sales Iam just giving my opinion and the contact info to use if you want to. I bought four as that was the way they are sold on ebay....I needed two so I sold two to 4T64rd for his car. they cost about 70-80 dollars for each TWO,depending where you ship em to I guess. here is a pic.-they have a 2-1/2" hole in center and are 1" thick. company name is Motorsport technology 2100 barton road ste 101,Grand Terrace, Ca92313 [909-514-0091 [www.motorsport-tech.com] part number/work order#27578
that's good to know , thanks for posting this info...i needed two just like that this spring and couldn't find any, ended up making my own...a lot of time and work, would have been cheaper to buy from him
my buddy has done buss. with these guys.they are freindly, knowledgable and helpful.i got A lot of useful info from them for my project
The materials they used and workmanship is EXCELLENT . it took 18 days[7 days of delivery]to get em. THEY LOOK BULLETPROOF TO ME. ALSO HAVE CONICAL SEAT FOR REGULAR LUG NUTS [TO REAR END].
You must be getting some kind of HELLACIOUS kickback to post that stuff here! Don't you know where the cl***ifieds are? Maybe you are just trying to kill us all because EVERYONE knows that you should NEVER run adapters on the power end of a hot rod. This is definitely some kind of subversive plot to kill all hot rodders during some kind of "accidental" adapter mishap. I'm on to you dude- this is just so wrong in so many different ways.

[/ QUOTE ] Yep, some guy GAVE me a set... said he wanted to "help me out". Turns out, he was a hired hit man that wanted to kill me... wanted to make it look like an accident. I found out just in time and destroyed those damn adaptors beofore putting them on my car and sealing my fate... Sam.
Everytime I have ran with spacers on the rear of one of my cars, aftertime, one or more of the lugs breaks and it isn't too fun slamming your car on the ground and catching the bouncing tire flying down the opposite side of the road. (3 times the exact same thing happened) Plus it's a pain in the *** jacking up the car afterwards when you are trying to fix it. Your not worried about that? Not knocking there parts, or anything, just curious if that is the general concensus around here.
Those guy's made the one I've got on my 47 Chevy, 100,000 miles on em with no problemo at all. They make good ****. B B

I wanted to see what I bought, this isn't spam, it's information. 1" thick 6061T, we will both be mounting steel wheels, conical seats (no moving). Who runs around with broken studs?
Now those DO look like some damn nice adapters... BUT.... Doesn't them being machined out of a solid piece of Aluminum make them B****T???
Jim A- the guy said to tell you he'll see ya in court........ Sam- [they come with instructions for you novices]. POOP POOP POOP poopy poop ,isnt that like somethin you'd say JimA ? do you guys share an apartment or somethin?
We share more than that- we share a sense of humor! Something you obviously lost A LONGGGG time ago. But I guess I did get QUITE a laugh out of you ***ertion that "GARAGE GROWN" was an evil plan to keep the beaters away from the chainers. It was actually true, but you made it into a BAD THING. See you in court FIRST.
AWW,C'mon Jim, why can't we all just get along? as for having a sense of humor, the jury is still out on that one....If it dont fit ya must aquit,Right? You know, maybe I was a litle mean to you the last time, but since you outed me as a humorless bum,I'm sad,cause....I coulda been a contender....I HAVE... A DREAM....Dont Bring me down..... Wanna make up now?
Thanks for the info Kenny...! And you are all friggen "Knuckleheads"...! LMAO It'll be pretty boring if you guys kissed and made up... !!!!!!! Mark
Got my BAAD* today, they look beefy and up to the task. Might switch out the studs for those of known heritage. I hope I'll still be able to post BS when I'm disfigured. *Billet Aluminum Adapters of Death.
