A recent thread showed work being undertaken by John Kouw (Cruisin' Customs), "...one of the unsung masters of Kustom work in our generation!" This is no doubt true. He has done a BUNCH of beautiful cars. I believe he is also responsible for the Ernst Chevy clone, as well as the "A" Brothers "Victorian" restoration. Yet I fail to find him even on Rikster's site, the Web's foremost custom archive. (Am I missing something? If so, I humbly apologize. There is SO much there to look through!) Does anyone have any photos to share, for those unfamiliar with his work? It's time to shine some light on this remarkable artist! Thanks! 'Mo
No you are not missing anything... I have just not had the time for a lot of modern day custom builders. So far I have concentrated mostly on the 40-60's built customs. I hope to have time in the near future to start some folders on at least some more of the recent day custom car builders. But for now here is his site... cruisincustoms
I have a *******ed slew of em.He did a blie sectioned 51 Vic convert,a chopped candy wine 51,a light purple prime 51,his buick,a 51 Chevy unchopped dedan, and a chopped mauve box to name a few.Looks like I gotta get back to Kinkos.
The blue '51 Ford Victoria convertible built by John Kouw at cruisincustoms in Holland, Michigan is one of my all time favourites. Very tasteful, understated custom. Check out his website cruisincustoms for more pics.
