This is embarr***ing but I traded a bar hag for a 52 Buick back in my crazy days. The Buick made it all the way to Denver, I have no idea where the bar hag ended up.

    I may have it beat....

I traded a solid, running, '67 VW Microbus for a Wendy's combo meal late one night. No ****.

It was a good trade. No ****.

I traded an old Evinrude outboard, I think it was about 6 h.p. , for a '65 Plymouth 4dr. I drove it to work for a year or so, and then sold it to some migrant workers for $100 or so. They drove it to Texas and back to Wisconsin two years in a row. Might still be runnin' around in Texas , for all I know.....

    Plus $1500.00 cash.

Then we traded two 54 Cadillac Hubcaps for this

A complete rebuilt (never broken in) 235 engine. All I did was clean it up and paint it.

I have not been lucky enough to get in on a good trade but.....I might trade my wife for a good running or at least quiet coupe.

  12. When I was 16 I traded a stripe job on a 27T for a completer dropped I beam with juice brakes and split wishbone.Traded many stripes for various parts over the years.Best trade was a Delco AM/FM radio out of a Studebaker for a chopped 54 Chevy with an Olds engine. The guy wanted it for his Avanti that he was restoring. This was in 1974 and he STILL hasn't gotten around to restoring the Avanti and now he has the Chevy back!

Traded a clean '62 plain Jane Impala for a very nice lowered '89 Chevy Sierra truck. I just wasn't interested in customizing the '62.

I traded an old pioneer cd head unit (fits corvettes and dodge dakotas) I bought back in 95 for a 1968 Gl***tron Boat. I sold the boat for $200, to a guy up in Minnesota. I think the radio was 250 new back then.

I traded a worn out Pontiac Grand Prix STE for a worn out Buick Invicta six p***enger wagon. After a little work the 401 Nailhead ran great, the TH400 shifted, it ran cool, had good brakes, and factory air that didn't work.

Then three years later I traded the Buick for a mortgage payment. :D

    Sold a 57 Bel Air 2dr..54 Coupe DeVille..2 XK120 Jags..a Xk150..and a 71 CJ w SBC..in order to buy the land (5 acres) and get my house built in 1983..and have kids.
    Kept my autocrosser 280Z..and the XK120 W/SBC..

Even though the cars appreciated..the land did better..just wish I could have kept them AND built the house..and still feed kids..(kids eat money)..

I bought my first car, 54 chevy 4-door, for $150.00 in 1974. I bought it at the local hardware store where someone had traded it in on a lawnmower. About 5 years later, I bought a 64 chevy 4-door to use as a work car, for $150.00 from a different hardware store, and someone had traded it in on a lawnmower, too.
