We went to the B*** Pro Shops cruise night on thursday night and it was my first time to see this Nomad. We were trying to figure out if the engine really ran or if the real engine was in the back, there could be just about anything hiding under that rear cover. I'm guessing the radiator was in the back because you couldn't see a radiator through the grill area ( it was all blacked out ) however we could feel heat coming off the engine. The workmanship and paint were spectacular but the engine looked a little weird, like it came out of a Revell box. Anyone have any info on this car?
    Thanks, Mike

P.S. Any southern new englanders reading this take note that this cruise night is becoming a premere cruise night drawing 500 cars and 200 bikes this week! It is held every other thursday with the next one scheduled for September 25th.

Geez, I'd rather see the W-motor instead of all that pretty plastic! Anyone else????

    Nice car none-the-less.

I talked to the owner at length at the Mendon, MA show.

The car took 2-years to build (south carolina I think), everything is hand-fabricated, and it does run.

Wether you're in to it or not, there's no denying it's a work of art.
A true testament to the craft.

Well, it may be a work of art but what a thing to do to a Nomad. Some might think it's cool but that's way over the top IMO

    from nowhere...

If your going to do that to it, why not just go Small Block...or LS-1...
    Or...just by a Lexus.

LOTS of work, to make something look so ***embly-line cheap.

Obviously not traditional but very impressive. It’s very interesting and impressive the level these guys are taking there cars to. Even more impressive if he did it himself.
    Looks like Troy’s work.

Everybody has different taste. Its definitely 100% not my style, but I have to respect the guy who built it, as the craftsmanship appears to be outstanding.

The spark plug wires running into the valve covers suggest an LS1.

When I was a kid, I spent hours making a Model Car engine look authentic with plug wires, etc... Now guys are making there REAL cars look like a Snap together kit.

That's the problem... it's supposed to be a car but now it's art.

Not my cup of tea but there is no denying the level of skill it took to pull it off. I like things that are practical and have usefullness. I'm afraid this one has crossed the line and is now only useful as a work of art.

If cars like this catch on, it could revolutionize model building! Just think how easy it'll be to make a highly-(un)detailed model;)

No, It's not really a work of art either.
It is good craftsmanship, but its still a matter of preference or style.
    Not my style either.

Everything that made it what it was has been surgically removed... may it's soul rest in peace.

  26. The only thing I like is, it was a Nomad, but they took away the soul of the car. Yeah, safe to say nothing there I like at all.
They say Pic***o's work was art, still looks like **** to me.

    mike,

i saw it at the Easton cruise a couple weeks ago. the same guy had finished a '37(?) chevy in the same style a couple years ago. he sent it to b/j to be auctioned with no reserve and reportedly lost a ton of dough.

it is a well done car, but it does absolutely NOTHING for me. when printmakers talk about carving plates for printing, they often talk about the mark of the tool. seeing tool marks (indicators that it was made by hand) is a good thing. there are no 'tool marks' on this car. nothing that shows the work of the craftsman. when anything is built to the extent that it loses its sense of being handbuilt, it has gone too far.

    in my everso humble opinion...
