  3. What zman said about a pressure washer. Blast EVERYTHING!!!! There is so much **** in floodwater that you need it clean. We actually saved furniture last summer by getting on it with soap and a pressure washer. The Gibbs is a great idea as well, does UPS deliver by boat?

Are all of the loses covered, yours and the customers, how do you estimate the damage, who estimates the damage?
    Just ****s........

  6. just got hit a little on my farm in NW MN and part of my road is washed out:mad: of course I am the onley one in the county with a flooding problem so I am ignored

seems like land use has changed a lot of water run off paterns for all the places in the USA that have flooding during a big rain and run off, way too much damage from water in this country
and mostly imbicles trying to solve it and they are stealing the money to fix it and put it in their own pockets
after New Orleans we see how graft and corruption works and how much they prosecute

got a 5 ft dike on my farm and got that solved so far but a boat needs to have a big flood to launch
I hope damage is at minimum and clean up goes fast and you are flood free for a long time

  7. I had about 2 inches of water in my shop Friday, then again Saturday. I'm not as bad off as you, only had 2 boxes of stuff, and one box of unbuilt vintage models get wet. Dean

Sorry to see and hear about all these problems with the flooding, that ****s! Hope you all come out of this with no or minimal losses. I always worry about that down here when a hurricane comes our way. Seems Mother Nature is upset about something!:(

That really ****s, we got a bit of water but not that bad! Billy if there is anything we can help with just ask. I'm just down the road, but you might have to take the long way with all the closed roads. Is the water gone now?

And to think I was *****ing about a small roof leak in my shop over the weekend.
All I ended up with was a puddle about 4'X8'..still enough to piss you off..but nothing like that.
Good luck with the clean up.

That brings back some bad memories. Water in the shop makes a mess. At least its not salt water, so hopefully no corrosion issues for you. Is it on the way down now?

You need one of these on your street ... [IMG] :D :)

Being from the DEEP South and close to the ocean ... I never thought about flooding in your area. Hope everything turns out OK and the water recedes ...

so it has stopped raining over here in Iowa........so hopefully you wont get anymore.

Was all this crazy rain due to the Hurricane?

hope the cleanup goes ok and no more flooding for you for a long while.

I did the Kalamazoo NSRA show this weekend and it rained non stop from Thurs night til ..........well........I guess it still might be raining there - I left Sunday about 5pm and it was still raining and some of the freeways were shut down due to flooding as well.

    Sorry Bobby.

    Is the water still rising?

You guys up on the north side really got smacked. First the storms training on the warm front on Friday and Saturday. Then the remnants of the hurricane on Sunday combined to produce record rainfall. All the runoff is headed downstream and the Illinois River is rising and is expected to go higher in the next two days. I've been watching it in Morris and it's been rising about 1" per hour - that's around 2' per day. So the storms will still be affecting folks this week.

Is there anything we can do to help?

I'm really sorry to see this, Bobby. I'm watching the girls every night this week or I'd come up and help you... if I could even get there.
