Where would you guys recommend taking a C4 tranny that leaks everywhere and that could help out with my flathead. I thought i'd ask seeing what happened to me before i became a H.A.M.Ber. I got really screwed from a shop in Whittier. I live in Anaheim close to Disneyland so the closer the better. Or even local mechanics that would do it for cash. Thanks for looking.

My family and I have used a place called Tustin Transmission for a trans rebuild in a 72 K-5 Blazer, a 92 K-5 Blazer, and some other seal and rear end issues. They are off the 5 Frwy at either Newport or Redhill. Call them and they'll give you a straight story.

Great, thanks! i'll check these guys out.

also how about body work and paint? I'd kind of like to have a little bit of custom work to it too.

I've seen Jimmy Whites stuff but how is he on pricing?

I have no recommendations, but only advice. If you're doing trans work, then you may possibly need driveshaft work in the future. stay away from "drive line service" in whittier. They took 3 months to make my driveshaft for my 59 caddy, kept giving me excuses, bullshitting me, then finally lost my trans yoke, and replaced it with a wrong one, not bothering to even tell me, untill I got home and tried it, and had to ask why i wouldnt go into the trans it went into before. The last straw? They made the driveshaft too long. I told them exactly what i wanted, gave them the proper parts, and paid in cash upfront.

Hope your projects come out well my friend.

Scumfuxcarclub, Funny thing, the shop in Whittier is now closed. The building is for lease.

Give my Dad a call, http://taylorstreetrods.com . The shop is in East L.A. / Commerce area and he lives in Brea. He's got a good painter he works with too.

  12. Another vote for Mitch, he helped out a friend in LA...On a Sunday...in his own time...and then fixed her truck & picked her up from the station when she was done at work.

    HIGHLY recommended.

Yeah i noticed, i went back to pick up my original 3 speed tranny from my Merc and he disappeared. I joined the HAMB shortly after i took my car there. God i wish i would have not taken it there. It took him 3 1/2 months to change the 3 speed to a C4 auto. Now look at the tranny he installed. I've only driven her maybe 200 miles and already she pukes up all her fluid within 10 minutes of driving

Randy is a dick and would not recommend him to my worse enemy!! He did my camaro years ago and never had a problem, so I took my muncie a few years later and he "rebuilt" it and put it together wrong and it blew up. He would not stand behind it and litterly told me to get fucked, I felt bad as I had refered friends to him and he refused to stand behind it. Who ever you go with for your trans I would check with the B.A.R. on their rep.

Thanks to Gothboy for the heads up on Drive Line Service. I was actually going there tomorrow to drop off my two piece drive shaft for my 54 Ford. Disaster overted.
