Did anyone build a Fuelie Ambulance? The Ambulance had twin 426 Hemi's with Hilbourne stacks. Front wheel and rear wheel drive. I think the manufactor of the kit was JOHAN....maybe. I built the model back in the early 80's but it was destroyed.
I remember that one. It had hippie paint on it and teenagers with surfboards. It was a Johan kit, I see them at the swapmeets.
The Heavenly He****! That's right DocWatson. Here's one on you know where.. http://cgi.ebay.com/JOHAN-HEAVENLY-...ItemQQimsxZ20080911?IMSfp=TL080911133008r2369
Ok this is the closest so far. This one was actually a Ambulance. The Roarring Ambulance was what it was called. It was white and red with the lights etc. Thanks guys for the effort. The thought came up the other day when I saw a local that has a old he**** ambulance that he drives around. Total Rat rod.
Here it is. It was a Johan kit: Powered by dual fuel-injected engines with fire extinguisher, Hurst mag wheels, drag chutes, moon tanks, compe***ion bucket seats, ram tubes, fuel injection manifolds, roll bar cage.
That was an easy way to get more milage out of the body tooling for the He**** and Ambulance bodies, I'm sure.
I picked up that kit for a song at a swap meet & later traded it to my buddy for my part of the gas on the way there! Years later he sold me his issue # 1 of TRJ, so I guess I did okay.
I had built that in 1980. Built to perfection then my tool of a little brother smashed it. A 50 Merc and a Duke of hazard 1/4 scale was demolished that day.
