Is there a modern source for a multi carb manifold for the 331 cadi motors? Any carb bolt style will do. I have seen the Edmunds 2-2 set up. Did anyone produce anything with 4, 6, or 8 carbs? Thanks, Lance
Yes both Edelbrock and Wieand made 6x2 intakes. You could try a Wanted add on here or try Evil- Bay. I got my 6x2 of the bay. H
Im not really up on Caddys but does a 331 and a 390 use the same manifold? I have a 4x2 Cragar manifold that fits a 390 I believe.
I have the later 500 inch Caddy engine putting 6 Strombergs on it...can't find anything gonna make my own intake
Rodbuilder .. go to www.cadillacperformanceparts.com and look at their BoogieMan Intake .. make your own top plate for six or eight carbs of your choice. Lancer .. sign up at www.caddy500.com and www.cadillacpower.com in the sections devoted to the early engines and cars .. you might find what you need.
thanks inmotion...that would have been a better way to go...I got over $600 in getting flanges wanter jet cut...damn, should have asked sooner...I have bought stuff from caddy500.com and were great to deal with.
I have a '63 390 (same as 472-500 ci motors) with an Offy 6x2 log style manifold. That was able to bolt up, just need longer runners to connect the ports from one side to the other. Non-log manifolds will not work, but I dont see why mine wont work if I go that route.
The 331/390/429 engines are NOT the same family as the 368/425/472/500 family. The bore spacing on a Cad 390 is not the same as the 472/500 engine family, therefore the intake manifolds will not interchange. Internal parts don't interchange. Adaptor plates for varius 'other' brand manifolds have been made and sold. They all require a 'dog leg' in the airflow at the port interface with the head due to the dimensional difference of the engines bore center lines. Driveability and performance suffer .
I didn't think so but I would like to see one to kinda give me an idea on what to shoot for during fab work, gonna run one of those new Alt that looks like a gen and a look a like electronic magneto ......oooohhh aahhhhh
Thanks for the info guys. Sorry if there was confusion about my manifold. Im gonna hold onto it since Ive recently found a good running 390 to put it on.
