Jeff just got his flathead back together this past week and man does it sound good! He did rings, bearings, hone, etc... but the best part is the cam! He'll have to jump in and tell more...

Today there was a vintage drag racing event about 20 miles out of Omaha, so it was a perfect maiden voyage with the newly built engine. Jeff and his son came down for a few hours and really didn't have any major issues. It even has so much power now, that the clutch slips! :D;)

He will be adding headers soon and getting the 2nd carb. hooked up, as well as updating the distributor (sbc?).

Here are a couple videos from today and some pics - Way to go, Jeff! :D
(it was very windy today, sorry about the noise)

Damn , thanks for posting this. It looks so much dirtier than it did in my litttle garage. That is soo cool. It sounds pretty good right now, that is with single exhaust, cant wait till I do up some headers and another carb.

It has so much more power now than before, wow. Alot of people told me it would be too much cam for a stock motor ( it is only 030 over), it seems about right.

Tuck , I will have to get some miles on this thing , then plan a trip up to Kanada and check out the roadster project.

Right on!! I can't wait to hear it in person. Blast it over to my place and I'll have my brother come down with the '32 sedan. We can have that flathead grudge race we talked about on the blacktop in front of my house.

Yeah, 400 Jr with hollow adj.

Dave, I will have to get over to your neck of the woods sometime when your not at your lake. hahaha

I look foreward to it. Could I bring a few more asphalt terrors along, naybe differant cl***es?

I will probably not make it down for the drags, we will have to race sometime though

Wish that I could make it out to your little shindig, congrats.

Thanks Trent, how is your flatty project coming?

You are the only one that noticed the belt, or lack of. I had the fan bearing lock up on my way there. I was driving down the interstate listening for strange noises. Then I heard some noises, then suddenly the engine bogged down and there was a terrible screach. I shut it off and coasted to the side. I hit the key and saw that the fan wasnt moving and figured that I dont need a stinkin fan. I took off the belt and hit the road. I was still pumped from the drive when Tuck called to see if it was running. Oh Yeah!

Troy,is the 40 back on the road yet?

Awesome Jeff! Glad to see it back out there. A little motivation for me... It's coming out of the garage soon, it still seems to be pretty upset.

Gary and Larry, it has been way too long. With winter , I probably still dont need no stinkin fan.
Well , right now I am pulling it back apart. I have a few things to take care of, then it will be back, even better.
