Found nice steel brake lines coated in a dark green polymer at Napa. You can bend them by hand and they're unkinkable. Anybody know anything about these? Good or bad. Also, is there an on-line supplier for them. Napa has a terrible selection in stock and theres no listing for them on they're website. Thanks. :)

I work in a busy tire and brake shop here in the northeast, The coating on the lines you are talking about is for rust protection and it works very well. We use it exclusivly! It bends nice flairs nice and lasts way longer than un coated line around here, the best part is you can buy it in 25' rolls and do your car front to back with no adaptors or unions!

Are local parts master store sells them. I have also bought them at CarQuest.
They seem pretty good, but I haven't had any on anything long enough to see if they are less prone to rust as thats what the coating is supposed to be for.

The best brake line solution out there is Fed hill's cunifer lines. It's a copper alloy line and their 3/16th line can be bent by hand...never corrodes and a higher burst strength than steel. Fedhillusa.com
I've got their flare tool...it's not cheap but man it's the easiest brake job you'll ever do....and the best part is you never have to replace the lines again.

I used it when I re-did my rear end swap on my 53, that was about 2 years back. They still look good..
be careful you dont buy the metric shit, especially if your unions and couplers and wheel cyl. are standard:mad:..ask me how I know:eek:

i wasnt paying any attention when i bought it.:(

That Green finish is so ugly though....

I went looking for plain zinc plated silver brake line yesterday and couldn't find any. Just that green crap...

The coated lines are called Poly Armour mfg by the AGS Company. Here is a link to a dealer list off the AGS website.

I used these and they do indeed bend/flare pretty easy even for a novice plumber.

I started a thread about this when I first found out about them. Just search my posts, lots of suppliers mentioned on there.

Napa, Autozone and Advance have them here. Haven't bothered looking anywhere else - these stores are on my side of the road on the way home.

I buy it by the roll- it bends real nice, flares nice, and seems to be a bit more resistant to Your general killings as well.

I like it. it does the job and looks okay doing it.

The plated stuff is still avalible by the roll at advanced, too.
