I need a new driver... I'd get $5000.00 worth of used S-10 pickup. or maybe a ford ranger.

if I had to spend it on fun stuff I'd get gl*** and interior for my 49.... chrome the bumpers and grille if there was anything left over.

I would call Brookville and get a 28/29 roadster body, well at least that would pay for most of it. That is the big lump sum of money that is spent at one time in a hot rod build. The rest is nickel and dime stuff that can be spent over time. Even building an engine you can spread out the parts you need over a little time if you need to.

If I had $5,000. that I HAD to spend it would be on sightseeing in the American South West, car rental & gas.

You can get an actual garage for less than 5 grand in Cali...and have money left over for a '51 Merc...and a Model A...WOW...!!!

Maybe we should all move to Cali if that's the case...

At current Canadian chrome plating prices, I would probably get my bumpers and a few goodies on my nailhead plated for $5K.:(

You could buy a $5,000 CD, then get it in cash after a few months, and maybe make about 6 dollars in interest.

And teach the world to sing. Then I'd buy some exotic engine-like a 215 Olds or a bad-*** hopped up slant six for my next project, a great welder and cl***es in metal working.

I would tell them , "Just hang on to the 5K. Working here is the REAL joy. Making the Stock Holders money. Yeah, that's what I am about. Matter of fact, here let me write YOU a check. How's 10K sound?" NO really, I would buy stock in AIG. No wait that's another bad idea. Damn! I can't think of anything. AMSTERDAM sounds real nice.
