All the lastest builders know that nuts weld better than a stack of 30 washers. Actually that's a nut on the farside, the bolt only goes half way through. Sheesh, we could go on forever on this stuff.
RAT ROD? Strange how some guys think its cool to half-*** stuff and drive a peice of ****... I don't get it.
this is why adjustable suspensions have a bad rap with some people. buy quality parts and practice proper installation procedures and you will get a clean and reliable suspensions sytem. check out DirtyDan's post on baggin his Rivi. he used one of my kits and he has nothing but good stuff to say. thats one of many examples of people who "did it right"!
some people scare me with their abundant knowledge of how to build a awesome suspension... right after they rip out their kitchen sink and their studio apartments bath tub... people should be tested for "idiocracy" before and after they buy a welder.
This is exactly the reason I stopped buying OSR. This **** was especially prevalent in the KC area when I lived up there. It's also the reason I split off from a certain club up there. The mentality seemed to be that if one buys a pretty cool ride that needs a little work, the best thing to do would be to tear the **** out of it, re-weld it in the most unsafe manner possible, then glue a bat to it. I think it's our DUTY as hobbyists to embarr*** these clowns in front of their friends every time we see this sort of thing.
Seriously.....all these interior shots and no pictures of the whole car? Granted it's a train wreck and I can't stop looking but now I'm curious what the rest looks like or whose it is.
Seen way worse, some by "pro" shops in the last 15 years of doing air. The best reason to go to shows is to look at junk suspensions.
sorry man - didnt want to be the cause of anyone elses drinking problem the sad part is this guys abortion is getting more web time than some of the quality stuff on here - Ill quit contributing ot this now
This kind of stuff actually makes me awfully proud of myself.... My fab work KICKS *** compared to this mess....
Oh wow! If this car completes you I'm going to be concerned! HAHA! The guy really did seem like a nice guy, but WOW! I actually felt unsafe standing next to that car.
did you talk to him at all? maybe he doesn't know any better... just saying... its easy to criticize and not offer advice... tok
did you talk to him at all? maybe he doesn't know any better... just saying... its easy to criticize and not offer advice... tok well said Tokyo.
O.k. sorry no pics of the car but this should give you a pretty good idea. Just imagine no hood, no grill, no floor, hard top "chop" on a four door, late model Camaro wheels in the rear. I think Tokyo is right. Maybe we should have talked to this guy about it. But how do you do it without possibly getting you teeth knocked out? Maybe he's a hamb member and is taking this to heart and fixing it. If you're out there speak up.-stick
This really could become a thread of "how do you tell someone who..." Is it right to let someone drive away in the car? Do you say something to someone who is trying to pertray an image of being a "bad ***" but is really going to be a "dead ***" if he takes it out on the road and the brakes go out or the back end falls off or even WORSE takes someone ELSE out. Where's the line of minding your own business and honestly telling someone (without the intent of being insulting) that maybe they should make some improvements for safety sake? He probably really digs the car and probably has a lot of pride in the work he's done, but... WOW. Lately I've been more inclined to mind my own business, but if someone asked my help I would gladly help.
