I live out in the middle of nowhere way up in the mountains in Crested ****e Colorado, and yesterday a bunch or vintage mostly european cars rolled thru town on a big tour called the Colorado Grand they are doing. Not many hamb friendly cars, but some great inspiration from cars that are way different than the norm. Just thought some others here would appreciate seeing some of these rides. Cheers!

That is a very cool thing to see. A few years ago I did a similar tour called the Red Rock Rendezvous , which was open to pre 1915 cars, that went through Crested ****e for a day. Great fun.

Always nice to see how the other half lives.Did they have follow up vehicles, etc. with them,or did they stay back at a discrete distance? Most of those fellows never touch their cars, when they come to Limerock here in Ct.they sometimes have chefs with them, alongside their hired car haulers and mechanics.Don't know if the mechanics need to bring their own lunch or not.Well I am off to Mexico to shoot white wing doves next.No wait, really have to go back to work.

Yeah that one mercedes coupe was the winner of the 52 LeMans race. And that one Ferrari is all dinged up from some sort of a fender bender. But he is still driving it. Definitely nice to see them on the road and not rotting away in a showroom.

I know I guy who got kicked out of the Colorado Grand and asked to never return,
a real racer with mega buck vintage cars,
did a HIGH speed p*** on a pack of Ferrari's in his historic D-type Jag.
    They didn't like that !

Notice things like the gullwing Mercedes in the back ground?
Think they'll go through the wine country??
Oh lord why wasn't I born rich !!??

    Outstanding cars. Thanks for sharing.

The number 80 Jaguar on the left looks a lot like the 1953 C-Type that I've attached some pictures of.

Actually I was really surprised. There were very few trailers there. They really drive their cars. There were definitely a bunch of paid mechanics tinkering. All in all alot of good eye candy, but I'm pretty happy with my 50 merc.

arbs, do you have any idea which way they are heading next? I'm hoping they might make it to the Pikes Peak area, but haven't been able to get any info on their route.

I really don't have any idea where they are heading next. I think Aspen or Vail.

  19. At first glance those looked like welding cylinders. I like the Hudson. The damn deuce is out of place.

    Thanks,

I'm happy with my T also, still find it pretty interesting to see these guys, kind of like guys in yachts,as opposed to my kayak. And when they come to Limerock , they mostly drive way better than I can, because they have all been to Skip Barber's school.'Least I can work on my hotrod myself, and my kayak never fails to start.
