Where is the best place to find this? Google search netted several references but no actual article. And I don't have access to any of the R&C magazines.
I'm going from memory, but I think that series was in R&C in 1970 or 1971. It was before the "merge" into HRM.
That series actually ended with the famous "black label" issue of RnC, didn't it? Or did it continue a bit into Hot Rod or the RnC Quarterlies?
From: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=750442 "R & C published a three-part series by Tom Senter in 1971, en***led "Ardun White Paper." Tom chronicled the birth and development of the Ardun head kit and some of the successes of the few racers fortunate enough to own them."
You can get the actual issue here for $17.25 + shipping: http://www.nitroactive.net/rod_custom.html June, 1971. ~Jason
I had copies of the entire articles and mailed to some a while back. If you can't find let me know. Bob
****! Went back and fixed that decimal place. It's fun to do on the "catch of the day" price sign at Red Lobster, but removing the decimal point here wasn't quite as funny. ~Jason
I can make copies of my mags if you need me to? Tom Senter (the guy who wrote the articles) stayed at my parents house for a week or so while he was writting that. Sneaking bits of information and pictures from my dad. I was only 3 at the time, but my dad still tells stories about Tom Senter as if it was yesterday. The two of them were very close. I have some great pictures of the two of them driving some of my dads old cars. Maybe I can scan some and post them... Matt
That was great series, always enjoy reading about new members in the hobby interested in the stuff we enjoyed 40+ years ago. Did Tom ever get to put the ARDUN in a car and drive it? I remember the '32 ch***is had a 26-27 roadster body on it in the early stages of the project, then a 28-29, and a '32 in the end. Who has his engine now?
And May as well for Part 1. Yup, that's pretty much all of the stuff I found doing a Google search. Matt - Someone has offered to send me copies so I'm covered I think. But if something happens and they don't show I might hit you up. Definitely post some pics when you get them scanned. You have any of the little yellow T? I'd like so see some more shots of the rear end setup.
Talked to my Dad today....he said I could bring his photo albums over next week and scan stuff. Stay tuned!!! Matt
Like a dumb*** I missed your HAMB name change while I was living in the camper building the house! Thanks for your input, like I said when you signed on here, your dads cars made an impression on me!
Dave Simard has it now. I pretty sure Tom and Mark Dees ran it in the 32 roadster. I had the pleasure of puting it together for the RJ photo shoot.

Just to update the White Paper quest...years later. These articles can all be purchased on EBAY. Note, Rod and Custom joined up with Hot Rod Magazine in July 1971 and Hot Rod did not choose to run the final part 3 in that issue. Also note, the summer issue of Street Rod Quarterly which includes part 3 is far rarer than the Rod & Custom issues and the article is not listed on the cover. As I write this, I am waiting for my issues to arrive, so I hope I'm not getting ahead of myself and that part 3 is indeed included in the Street Rod Summer 1971 magazine. This is what I have been told. Part 1 is in Rod & Custom May 1971 Part 11 is in Rod & Custom June 1971 Part 111 is in Street Rod Quarterly Summer 1971
