I just talked with my dad and the ltd had a 390ho 800 carb 4:11 rear gear. it did not get gas mileage to start off with but this distributor was perfect for the car. my dad did not want to be the culprit for worse gas millage so he only had the distributor on for a month. The switch I am talking about sat on the bottom of the dash, was blue, 6in long, had a variable ballast resister behind it, said mallory on one side and the other had a switch that said street/strip, dose any one know where I can find that ballast resister? I think its a condenser that's missing from the side of the distributor.

  6. I think in an F250 you will be MUCH happier with a distributor that has vacuum advance. PerTronix has come out with a Plug and Play electronic dist for the FE that is a two wire connection and has vac advance. I have one in my 32 and my Falcon and it works great. Check it out at Summit part #PNX-D133701

I don't have functioning vacuum advance on my truck because the a previous owner crimped the port on the dizzy, I have no problem with having no vacuum advance. I am going to install this dizzy and no one is going to talk me out of it. I stumbled on to more info on this dizzy, this is the mallory rev-pol that take a special coil and somewhere I have the rev-pol switch plate. I am going to have both points hooked together for time being and was wondering if it mattered witch condenser I use with it. should I adjust mechanical advance or leave it where its set

I just bought one of these today at the Spokane Swap Meet. The only reason I bought it was for the Rotor, pints and condenser. It looks to work fine but without a cap. If anyone is interested in it contact me. Oh, how does it work, only having four lobes on an eight cylinder engine?
