Hi Guys, New member here, just a quick note to introduce myself. My name is Ken, and I'm posting from Flamborough, Ontario, Canada. My hobbies past and present include off-road and oval track car-racing, 4-wheel drive trucks, camping and fishing, and most recently metalshaping, which is where I seem to be spending most of my free time these days. It was actually one of my metalshaping projects that led me to discovering this forum, when one of your members posted pictures of my aluminum baseball cap in these pages. As well as being quite flattered by the comments from the readership here, I also spotted lots of excellent pictures of traditional hot rods, which have been a fascination of mine since long before I could see over the top of a steering wheel. I've mosly been working on sculpture and motorcycle sheetmetal so far, but I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of time before I wade in and try out some automotive panels. I hang out with the crowd over at Metalmeet, so I've definitely seen enough amazing metalshaping for custom hot-rods to make it very tempting! Please feel free to check out the stuff I've been up to at my website at the link below. Ken
Welcome, Ken! Always room for another Canadian around here. I can dent metal with a hammer... that's about the limit of my skill. Good to meet ya.
Great to have you aboard Ken. Whereabouts in Flamboro are you? I've got an uncle in Freelton and another out by Valen's. Cool looking metalwork. Flatman
Hi Flatman, I'm just off Hwy 5 in the Brock road area, 10 minutes south of Flamborough Speedway. Thanks for the kind words on the metalwork! EDIT: I just noticed that you will be at the Waterdown meet on Sunday, maybe we'll meet up if the timing works out. Ken
Welcome Ken! I'm just north of you in Freelton. Cool metalwork!! I'd love to see you apply your craft to some vintage tin. Brian
