Im just lookin for ideas on a 49 wayfarer I picked up. I have never owned a custom, and thought a wayfarer would make a good alternitive to a merc, if there is such a thing.
i dont have any ideas other then the usal shaved door handles maybe a chop or even roofless frenched head lights that sorta stuff but they are cool cars
the skys the limit, choptop or drop and cruz everything applys to the plymouth. we have lots of 49/52 here take a good looky. weld the hood peck the front of the hood, mold the lips and some 53 buick headlites buckits, lean the B piullers forward, lots of room on these cars.
this thread has a bunch of custom Wayfarers on it http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=155746&highlight=plymouth+fastback
Sonny's car was built 45 years ago and still looks great...54 Merc roof, 57 Pontiac dash and engine, etc. One of the nicest ever. Plus he's a great guy, too.
I have a line on one. They are few and far between. I would have never figured out what the "mystery machine" was.
Jim is it a business coupe? If so they look *****in with a carson top, sombreros or lancers, dropped, packard taillights, tuck in the bumpers and roll on some tasty wide whites
