Actually a lot better, didn't buy the car that needed a bunch of patch work, Decided to up my start up price and ended up with a much better and solid car. Now just researching a lot of stuff and starting to acquire major ticket items before I retire in the spring and start going to town on this one.
Don't even bother with other providers besides EMS. Their quality is second to none and their panels fit well. Not cheap, but well worth it
Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but if you guys could make a 57 ford rear splash pan, I would be FOREVER grateful

The tailpans are the same for the custom and fairlanes. I have a NOS one if you need to borrow it to make a good panel.
Macs makes tailpanels for '55-'56s, not sure about the '57s - you'd have to check with them. I just got one along with some other repair panels for my '56 from Mac's - they had Shott Inc stickers on back of them. Appear to be very good quality, & except for the tail pan were quite a bit less $$ than other sources I found. Macs Auto Parts - http://www.macsautoparts.com/
