What percentage of bob weight do you use to balance a V-twin. Does the angle of the engine matter. eg.45 or 60 degree?

  3. Yes, the angle matters a great deal. Indian and Harley use different balance factors due to their different cylinder angles. BMWs need almost no balance factor (it's arguably a 'V' twin, albeit one with a 180º angle.).
Also useage matters: if your cruising at, say 2500 rpm, you'll use one balance factor, whereas if your road racing, it's another factor.
Best is to given the entire rotatating ***embly to someone whom you trust.

I call it an opposed twin. :D

Don't forget the Ducati twins with their 90 degrees.

Does anyone have the S&S bob weight that they could make a simple measured drawing of, so I can machine one to the 1000 gram weight? Its the last piece I need for my balancing kit (S&S no longer sells the kit or any parts thereof)

    Thanx

Dont know anybody that has any parts , but a couple of running engines . Funny thing both my old Shovels are rather smooth until about 70 Mph , go through the shakes on the way up , smoothes out at about 75 , only issue is on the way back down it seems worse to go through . Old Dudes just keep running
