I need pics of the Shaker. Im doing a picture project of my all time favorite car. Any and all pics would be appreciated. Thanks, Bruno... kingtut400@yahoo.com
Gearhead News had a nice spread on "The Shake" a few months back. You can call them at 630-427-0409, they may have some copys they can send.
Here is another one i have on the computer. Now im have to dig through my photo albums to find the pictures i took of shake in action at the grove in the late eighties.
Thanks for posting the pix from the Ampiatheater indoor drags. Now does any one have a picture of Alcoa Presents trying to go thru the exit door to the shut down area sidewise! Most people I talk to, that weren't there, think this is just Chicago urban legend. Sorry, King Tut I am not trying to hi-jack your post. The pix just show what racing was like in Chicago in the '60s. It was nice to see your car at the WoW this year.
indoor drag racing?!?!? holy cow i bet that was loud as a sum biotch!!! and the fumes...........GROOVY!!!
The Shake is still around and running good! It now has a more modern Steve Schmidt 632 in it with a Lenco and runs low 7's. With the right tune-up, they are expecting some 6.90's! How many vinyl top 57's have you ever seen? More info here:http://www.hotrodhotline.com/feature/garage/0657chev/ http://www.draglist.com/artman/publish/daily_stories/article_001577.shtml
Here is the latest info on the "Shake". Thanks to Mike Alberts & Draglist.com. http://www.draglist.com/artman2/publish/daily_stories/Shake_Rattle_Run_an_Update_2008.shtml Pete Gemar
Alcoa Presents was my dad's '62 Super Duty. I have pics of him there but not of him sideways. Would love to have that pic!
