Event Coverage 1st annual rally at the Bay

O.K. heres the scoop.Come spend the weekend at Put-in-Bay, Ohio Oct.3,4,&5th.Free ferry transportation will be given to HAMBers and their Stocker,Rod,or Kustom,compliments of Miller Boat Line, Inc.These tickets are only good for that weekend.A block of rooms have been held at BayShore Resort for 130.00 per nite,2 queen beds.Please check their website at:bayshoreresortpib.com then call 419 285 3931 and ask for the HAMB discount.There is also camping and other options for lodging on the island.Please check the Miller Boat Line website at millerferry.com for ferry schedule and more info about the island.This weekend is also the wine festival[goodtime] the kickoff party will be at the Tiki Bar at the bayshore resort Fri. evening.I'll try to arrange a car parade and display at the winefest tent on Sat. and then on Sun. the locals put on a car parade led by the chief of Police who has a 60 caddy 2door.After you have made arrangements for accommodations PM me with your address,number of family members,and type of car{pre 64} and I will send you ferry tickets.You must be a HAMB member to get free p***age. Try not to arrive to late on Fri. as the ferries get rather busy later on.These tickets do not give you any special reservation,sorry but you must wait your turn like every one else.If you want to bring the kids,there is plenty to do for them on the island.Please post quick reply see we can see whos coming.See you here,keepemrunnin,Scott

I sure hope we get a pile of Hambers to go to this.
You guys and gals!! You have no idea how much fun and how cool and beautiful this island is!
This will really be a good time if we can get a large group.
It would be great to fill the ferry up with all of our cars at the same time. What a picture that would be. Dont miss this... it'll be one of the last big get togethers for this season.

I have never gone by car before, just by boat. Any truth to the rumor that it takes hours on Sunday afternoon/evening in line to get a ferry off the island??

Sunday night is busy leaving the island.
It's best to leave in the late afternoon.
Thats for the foot traffic, as far as car traffic at that time. I have no idea.....

 

A much better website for the island is www.put-in-bay.com. The reason why some websites say there is a delay getting your vehicle over or back is so you rent their golfcarts to drive around the island instead of bringing your own car.

 

Get your reservations in for where youre going to stay.Im mailing out tickets now. Scott

The bayshore resort has only 8 rooms left for this weekend.They had to take 10 of the rooms from the block because they were sold out and turning people away.I know its kind of expensive and Im sorry for that,but if you are going to stay there book now, otherwise check the website I suggested for other places.But, dont wait to book. For those in the area,
It would be great to start making this the end of the year Hamb fling every year.
There is also camping available at the state park there. Some B and B's are cheaper than the Motels because of off season rates.
Put in bay is a cool little island about 30-45 minutes north by boat. Great restaurants, even better food, some cool bars. The days have a family atmosphere and the nights are more of an adult atmosphere. Beautiful Island.

The island is one of the most enjoyable places in the midwest. If you're on the fence, you need to go and experience the place.
