I just finished posting an article on the OldCarsWeekly.com site and thought that some of you might be interested:

Vintage Fins of the Ozarks of Pittsburg, Mo., on behalf of a collection owner, is offering 108 vehicles from the 1940s to the ’70s for sale.

The catch is they must all (the dealer is willing to part them out!) be sold by Oct. 9 or what’s left will get fed to the crusher.

You can read the article and check out photos and the contact info for the yard by CLICKING HERE.

They have about 100 photos of the cars posted.

Sorry about that. The link in the post above has now been fixed.

  3. Over here, pimping your site, as you do on several others. Why don't you do the right thing and SPONSOR the sites you troll your stories on, huh?

some good tin there... wish it was closer to me...

  6. He does this on several sites to pimp for Old Cars Weekly and links to their site to get their site traffic up. Note, he (they) sponsor no other sites but their own, and all he does is pimp HIS articles!!!

It would be too easy to post the link directly, but all he does is post teasers for OCW, and he otherwise posts no information, discussion or any useful content info at all. Notice, he won't reply to this one, either, because he posts his garbage, then leaves for another time.

Who cares? I think a bunch of cars getting sold is something of value and I am glad to hear about any sales. I would rather go to a junk auction than sit at a show any day.

Any more, I am pretty sure someone could offer free 10 dollar bills on the HAMB and there would be someone bitching about not getting 10 ones or 2 fives instead.

I didn't intend to tick folks off, I rarely post on this board these days on the chance that I might upset fellow users. I simply thought that this would be of interest, especially since this metal is going to be crushed if folks don't act quickly if they are interested.

Whether the link points to OldCarsWeekly for the info, or some other site, I guess that I simply wanted to get the word out so that more cars don't end up recycled.

what i don,t understand is why don,t they have a auction, then let the crusher guys do what they have to do..

  14. I'd love to have that 57 Dodge .. but FL is a little too far away. I told my nephew in MO about it though .. I can't imagine why someone would crush some of those cars because I know they'd bring more than a crusher if people knew about them ... ??

  15. any of you metal working guys see anything in these pics that could be used to repiar this........

I once went to an art show where the artist had the opening reception, then afterwards he did an auction of the paintings and if no one bought them he would take a boxcutter to them. It worked on a lot of them because some of the people were on the fence about it. I thought it was an interesting sales strategy.

Thanks for posting this. It's close enough for those of us in central Arkansas to make a road trip.

it says prices $1500 and up or down from there, i think a crusher is not paying that , why do people ask that kind of money and say it will crush if you dont buy it, i say crush em and let him get minimum bucks,,,

Vintage Ozarks is here on the site, I do not remember seeing any of these in the classifieds.

  28. You see that tactic used all the time. those cars will probably only average $250.oo each crushed. They could probably get more at a auction. There was a guy going by the seller namr Dokead had a 57 chev represented it as a project X clone on ebay said if he didnt get 2500.oo he was going to crush it the next day after auction end. Six months later it was back on ebay. I asked him why he didnt crush it that i thought he wasnt good to his word. He responded by calling me a asshole. I responded back (tell me something i that i dont already know). I wont waste my time on those cars even though they are not too far from me. Because they are using the crusher threat tactic and want considerably more than crusher price. If they had a auction i would go and try to buy.

Exactly. I hate that. So some scrapper is going to make a ton of money because they cant just go $300 a car. They would make money, and do the right thing. Instead they want to hit one outta the park on like 1 car and crush the rest.

Scrap is loooow now, I went across the scales a few weeks back when it was higher @ 3440 lbs getting 292 dollars. Most of those cars are rusty and missing stuff, so I dont think they are going to weigh in at what this fully loaded 70s Olds I had would.
