We had the pleasure of going to Brian Bauer's birthday bash , he'd wanted to "sit in a fuel car" for ever . Josh , his son asked the Mondello /Matsubara crew if they'd do the honors . As a one off , never to be repeated gesture they agreed to cackle the car with Brian in the hot seat. That's what I call REAL FRIENDS. Many thanks to all concerned we had a blast & I'm sure Brian did too. You can catch Brian's cars in Hop Up mag. He's a Model A junkie.
AWESOME!! Does any one have a high res picture of the mondello and matsubara car? I want one for my desktop...
9 months in the planning & Brian had NO clue till they pulled down onto Ed's place he was Gob smacked , as we say in England The party was a surprise & the Race car was on top of that , brilliant. Karpo, Derek & P-wood are really top geezers .
Steve, I just had a buddy call me and said , you gotta go to the Hamb and look at the video Steve put up. Very cool Steve. It was a great day hanging out with old friends, and firing up the Altered for Brian. Brian's son Josh said his dream was to be in a Fuel car lit. If anyone knows Brian, he is the most kindest guy out there. It was an honor for us to light it up with him in the car for his 60th B-Day. And to see his face and reaction to the Nitro was a Kodak moment.
I hope the video did it justice just my little Canon digi camera, sounds great ! Andrew did the editing at work today , you guys rock .
You are correct. Brian is one of the nicest guys in the hobby. It is amazing the hot rods he's built on a mailman's wages. What is more amazing is that he still owns all of them.
