Hey just wanted to post some pics of last weeks time on the salt during the USFRA's Speed Week. Great time, good weather and super people.

Thanks great pics my friend runs a bug in the FALT class think he went 155 and change if I am not mistakin.I sure wish I could have went.
The red&black tank is running B/FL. He is a friend from Rochester NY area. I believe his number was 105 and his name is Ron Richardson. I think his best time was 237 before the car broke.
The bug was a big hit. Lots of interest when he turned those great speeds on Thursday? if my brain cells are right.
Hey Buz, just a little more info on Ron and his tanker. Ron, pretty much a life long hot rodder and life member of the Rochester Street Rods, started building his tanker over three years ago with the goal of going 200MPH at all the various speed venues. Maxton was his first place to try his hand nd he did get to 198MPH this year before the infamous bug bit him in the ass and he could not get the car over that speed. The learning curve was in full play here. Steve Walczak, who owns the engine powering Ron's car and who has DONATED its use, was there to try and help Ron with the tuning was befuddled as running a car a Maxton ain't quite the same as running the quarter, which Steve is quite skilled at. Anyway, 200MPH didn't happen before the guys did figure out some of the problems. Fast forward to Bonneville and this year's USFRA meet. Ron with his small crew of volunteer/friends headed West to see what the tank could do. He did his licensing runs at about 183MPH(?) and was set to do his official runs. He called when he did 208MPH and was ecstatic. He had made his goal at the birthplace of real speed racing. Then he went 237MPH before the trans went south. What an accomplishment! I'm certain Ron is planning his next attempt at Maxton in October and we should all look to see another 200MPH-plus on his tally sheet. If you are anywhere near Ron when he is at these meets, stop and say "Hi", he's a great guy.
I was there, sitting at the 2-1/4 mi. and every time I saw that tank wail past, my eyes almost watered and the hair on the back of my neck stood up. That thing is a work of art, and to see it at speed on the salt was a visual I will never forget.
