Is anyone out there running GM 220 Rochester TBI/TBI's with a remote fuel pressure regulator and NO return line? ie. stock regulator removed and blanked off and return ports plugged or know of any reason why this is will not be workable.
Sounds like it ought to work. Sounds to me like you're wanting to set it up basically like most multi-point EFI setups, with the pressure regulator before the injectors. So long as the pressure is correct and well regulated, it should work pretty well, but you have to watch that, IIRC the GM TBI setups will go nuts if the pressure is out of whack.
GM TBI relies heavily on fuel pressure to determine mixture and return lines allow consistent pressure with varying demand. In the grand scheme of efi conversion a return line is not a big deal, find somewhere else to scrimp.
Damn, you're right, I didn't see "NO REGULATOR", I just saw where he mentioned using a remote regulator and ass-u-med-d that he'd do the common & smart thing and use a return type regulator. You could do what he wants to do...with a return style regulator mounted remotely, but if it's done any other way, I'd agree with you 100%, it not going to f'ing work without a return line. Returnless systems baffle me anyway, what if something screws up the fuel pressure? Welcome to shit crick!
