I will be out in California for one of the shows and was wonmdering which one you all thought was a better show? If I have my '33 done by than, I will drive it out there, so we will see how the progress goes. I heard both are good, but wanted to plan accordingly. Thanks, Matt
Something always comes up on the weekend of Bakersfield and I never end up going. As for BP its a must go, gets better every year
Levi, Do ya drive? I live in southern MN, maybe we could meet up and drive out together, always nice to have a partner in crime out there on the road with ya in case something happens. Just a thought. It looks BP this year, I am excited. Back to the shop!
They are both great shows. I've been to every HRR and missed only one Billetproof. I would say it depends on the type of car you are interested in. If you like Rat Rods and speed equipment Billetproof for sure. If true Kustoms are your interest, the Hot Rod Reunion would be better. If you come to the HRR, look me up. I'll be the one driving fule pump's 37 Craig
They are apples and oranges. But I'd say that if you like Drag Racing and hot rod history, the CHRR is the event for you. But if you like the new trend of rat rod and traditional rod... the music, vendors selling clothing and art... Billetproof is the show for you. The CHRR will take you 2 8 hour days to see it all... and the cacklefest will leave you with tears in your eyes... Billetproof takes a couple-few hours to see it all. I wouldn't miss either... but then again, I live out here. Sam.
Aaahh, thery're both cool but CHRR gives you the entire spectrum of hot rods, customs, old, new, dragsters and lakesters and the best racing you'll ever see (not to mention the chance to meet your heroes). It's three days and two nights. You get your moneys worth I'd definetly make it to CHRR. Oh, and the day before there's the Rattlecan Nationals just up the road at Harris Ranch. You can shmooze and partake in snocker practice all night then hotfoot it to Famosa on Friday for CHRR. Whatta deal.

I've never really seen Billetproof but CHRR is freakin killer!!! And the Cacklefest..........HOT DAMN!! It's my treat to myself after Billetproof is over. BTW thanks for the positive support guys!
I've never been to Billitproof, but I would love to go there. I have been to CHRR many times and it is my favorite show/road trip by far. It is something I will not miss. As was mentioned before, you have the Rattle Can Nats at Harris Ranch on Thurs. night and Fri. morning. You have the CHRR itself on Fri to Sun., with famous race cars, walks through the pits, great vendor area, killer swap meet, tons of cool heaps in the show area, the cacklefest that will leave you in tears, plus, the whole deal is set to the continuous sound of race cars running down the track. On Sun. you have several options. You can stay at the track and soak up more CHRR, you can drive an hour or so north to Burbank and go to the Throttlers picnic, or you can drive a couple of hours north east to El Mirage dry lake and watch land speed racing (last year I watched "uncle" Gene Winfield make two runs in his re-creation of the thing). Both shows are good, but if you are more of a car guy than a "scene" guy, I say it's CHRR all the way.
http://www.nhra.com/museum/2004/chrr/ I love the smell of NITRO in the morning... I'd pick CHRR. I see cars parked all year long... Billetproof is the weekend before. Do both... http://www.billetproof.com/upcoming_shows/nor-cal/show.htm

Have to mis Billet Proof again. Too bad... Maybe one day. I went to Paso a couple times... I have the feeling that carwise it's kinda similar. You don't see the nostalgia drags every day though... That's why I'm going for the HRR again.
Never been to Billetproof but I'd vote for the Rattlecan at Harris ranch the Tursday night early friday morning then the HRRR -at
